Steve Sr.’s sons, Steven Jr., Jesse McBee, Cole McBee, and Brayden McBee are captured on camera walking into court, accompanied by their mother, Kristi McBee, as well as Jesse’s wife, Alli McBee, and Cole’s fianceé, Kacie Adkison.
The McBee patriarch was in U.S. District Court for sentencing on Oct. 16, 2025, after pleading guilty to one count of federal crop insurance fraud.
“It is a surreal experience walking into this courtroom,” Steven admits to producers in the preview, while Jesse highlights the severity of the situation: “We’re walking into what could be the last time we see my dad for a while.”
From there, Alli describes the conditions of the courtroom during the sentencing: “It’s real quiet. It’s still.”
“Everyone is on edge,” Kacie adds. “I can hear people crying behind me. Cole’s shaking.”
Cole, for his part, says, “I just never imagined being in a situation where one of us could be getting in trouble or be getting jail time. It just doesn’t seem real.”
What happened at Steven McBee Sr.’s sentencing for crop insurance fraud
In case you need a refresher, Steven Sr. pleaded guilty in federal court in Kansas City, Missouri on Nov. 5, 2024 to one count of federal crop insurance fraud, but his sentencing happened nearly one year later. At that time, a U.S. District Court judge sentenced him to 24 months in prison, as well as another two years of supervised release, in addition to paying back more than $4 million in restitution.
Steven Jr. shared more of his father’s mindset ahead of reporting to prison on Dec. 1, 2025 during his appearances at BravoCon. “The man was built to handle stressful situations. If anything, we’re more stressed out than he is,” Steven said at the time. “We’re just here to love and support him through this time, and as a family, we’ll get through anything together.”

Kacie more recently shared updates on how her soon-to-be father-in-law is doing in prison, as she answered fan questions on her Instagram stories. “He’s doing as good as he can be during his time away!” Kacie wrote on May 12. “We are going to see him this weekend! I will let him know so many people are checking on him!”
Steven McBee Jr. teases what’s to come during The McBee Dynasty Season 3
Steven Jr. didn’t mince words when he laid out the “big changes” the family now faces at the farm on the heels of his father’s sentencing.
“I mean, [there have been] more changes in our life this year we’ve had, and we show it all,” he told BravoTV.com during BravoCon 2025 in November. “We put it all out there. There are so many highs and lows coming.”
“Obviously, [we’ve] gone through some situations here. My dad’s situation, you know, we were already in an uphill fight before that, and then with that coming about, just put us in an entirely new challenge that we’ve never faced before,” Steven Jr. continued. “Really, it’s just gonna be us uniting and trying to make sure we can save the farm for the next generation.”

But Steven also admitted there’s plenty of good to balance out the bad in Season 3. “Season three, it is such a crazy rollercoaster because we have so many good things happening. New babies in the family, obviously Cole and Kacie’s engagement,” he added. “So many good things contradicted with my dad’s situation, and every day has been a struggle on the farm.”
