Los Angeles, California – Megan Thee Stallion got candid about her surprise split from NBA star Klay Thompson, admitting that she’s still in “shock” over the breakup.

In a Marie Claire cover story published Tuesday, the rapper admitted that she hasn’t fully gotten over what went down.
“It was so abrupt. I’m in shock still,” Megan said.
Though it caught her off guard, she also revealed there were some serious signs that things weren’t quite right.

“When something is meant for you, it’s gonna be easy. It’s gonna be right. It’s not gonna feel like a panic all the time,” she explained. “I feel like that’s what I was in, constantly on edge. My nervous system needed to calm down.”
Megan added that she’s intentionally working through things and “feeling all the feelings,” emphasizing that she refuses to take any “shortcuts” in the healing process.
The Grammy winner shocked fans in April by calling Klay out on social media and accusing him of cheating on her.
“Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward,” she wrote.
As for her dating life now, Megan, who was visibly emotional during the interview, said she isn’t looking for another relationship any time soon.
“I’ve never, ever, ever been in a relationship like that, ever. So I’m definitely not worried about another one for a long time,” she shared.
The breakup came around the same time Megan made an early exit from Broadway’s Moulin Rouge!, where the intense pressure of her schedule led to a major wake-up call.

Megan had been set to play Zidler in the iconic musical for eight weeks, but just one week into her run, she was rushed to the hospital mid-performance.
The Body artist told Marie Claire she thought she was having a stroke, and her co-star recalled seeing Megan with “barely any color in her face” and shaking during the performance.
Megan initially refused medical attention, as she didn’t want to let her fans down, but the exhaustion had gone too far.

She ultimately stepped away from the show on May 1 – about two weeks ahead of schedule.
Now, Megan has taken the experience as an important lesson to take better care of herself.
She’s stepped away from social media and picked up a new hobby: reading thrillers!
Megan dished that she can’t get enough of Ruth Ware and Jeneva Rose’s books, and teased that she’s exploring what she can get involved in in the literary world.
“I want to engage the hotties in reading.”
