
ANOKA COUNTY, Minn. (TCN) — A 39-year-old father has been found guilty of second-degree murder in connection with the death of his teenage son last year.
Jordan “Manny” Collins Jr., 16, was last seen on May 8, 2025. He was reported missing several days later, and investigators found his remains in a landfill.
According to a criminal complaint obtained by KSTP, his death was ruled a homicide and there was evidence he was decapitated with a knife. Bloodstains and multiple knives were found in the home of Jordan Collins, the victim’s father, and DNA testing matched the bloodstains to Collins Jr.
According to the Anoka County Attorney’s Office, Collins was charged with second-degree murder on July 9, 2025. CBS News reports Collins he had cash and was planning to leave the state when he was arrested.
After about three hours of deliberation, a jury found Collins guilty on Oct. 7, KARE reports. His sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 2; he faces a maximum penalty of life in prison.
