The 24-year-old was last seen in the 600 block of Jackson Street NE, and her family is “concerned for her welfare,” police said in a statement. Authorities have not released any additional information about the case. Friends of Hackel are also organizing search parties. So far, there have been no sightings of Hackel, and her disappearance remains a mystery.

Hackel graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and was selected for a prestigious fellowship through the National Institute of Health, according to an article on UWL’s website. She has a bright future ahead.
