The 24-year-old was last seen in the 600 block of Jackson Street NE, and her family is “concerned for her welfare,” police said in a statement. Hackel graduated from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and was selected for a prestigious fellowship through the National Institute of Health, according to an article on UWL’s website. She has a bright future ahead.
