After a difficult Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 charter ended with an exciting surprise, new father Nathan Gallagher made a bold declaration about the future of his family with Gael Cameron.Â
Nathan’s ability to maintain his composure with a “disrespectful” guest named Josef literally paid off for him and his crewmates in Episode 4 (streaming on Peacock beginning June 30). “Yachting is a business. You’re always gonna have the Josef,” Captain Sandy Yawn explained during the tip meeting. “When they’re rude and obnoxious, you have to defuse, so well done, Nathan.”
In fact, the bosun, along with the rest of the M/Y Akira One team, had done such a “fantastic job,” according to Captain Sandy, that the group led by retired MLB pro Johnny Damon and his wife, Michelle, left the yachties a $50,018 tip, which amounted to $3,847 per person.
“That’s a lot of f–king diapers,” Nathan declared in a confessional. “Gael, I’m coming home. Let’s make another baby!”

How fatherhood impacted Nathan Gallagher’s dynamic with the Below Deck Med cast
Post-charter, Nathan enjoyed a celebratory dinner with his fellow yachties in Dubrovnik, Croatia. When the newly appointed second stew, Kayley Smith, encouraged him to “stay out” with all of them after they finished eating, however, Nathan replied, “Oh, I would love to, but I won’t.”
As revealed earlier in the season, Gael and their son, Kayden, had temporarily relocated to Croatia, so that Nathan could be with them during his off time. That ultimately made his decision to forego a night of partying with the team a no-brainer.

“I just want to go out for dinner with the crew and then leave straight away because I know Gael is struggling at home with Kayden by herself,” Nathan explained in a confessional. “My family is more important than drinking beer late at night with my crew who I’ve known for a week.”

When Below Deck Med Season 11 filmed in Croatia, Nathan and Gael’s baby, who was born in June 2025, was still only months old. As Nathan opened up to Captain Sandy upon boarding the vessel, “This is like our first time apart now. It was emotional.”
Luckily, he and Gael were able to secure a rental home just seven minutes away from the marina. “I want to see them whenever I can,” Nathan added during the premiere episode.
As he further admitted to a producer, “I do know it’s going to be difficult. Look, I’m still trying to find my feet in the bosun role. And I’m also just trying to find my feet in this new dad role. I want to be a good partner. I mean, moral of the story is: I feel f–king pressure.”
By Episode 2, Gael and Kayden even visited the yacht, marking the first time that Captain Sandy met Nathan’s baby. After Sandy expressed how glad she was that they were able to come aboard to see her and Nathan between charters, Gael replied, “I’m just happy that he doesn’t have to be away from [Kayden] for six weeks. Really appreciate you as well.”
After the episode aired, Gael reflected on the experience via an Instagram post on June 16. “Getting to introduce our little man to [Captain Sandy] and [Aesha Scott] was so special,” she wrote. “They’ve both always been incredibly supportive and have meant a lot over the years. It was also wonderful meeting the rest of the crew and making new friends along the way!”
Gael concluded her IG caption, “Moments like these are ones I’ll never forget.”
