Funeral services for Dennis A. Schneider, 75 of Selby, SD will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 10:30 am at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 from 5-7:00 pm at Kesling Funeral Home. Interment under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home will be held at Selby Memorial Gardens, Selby, SD. Dennis died on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Bowdle Hospital.
Dennis A. Schneider was born in Mobridge, SD on October 12, 1948 to Andy and Violet (Ahl) Schneider. He attended school in Mobridge through his sophomore year. Dennis then transferred to Selby and graduated in 1966. After nigh school Dennis enlisted in the US Navy and served 5 years on the USS Ticonderoga. On December 4, 1971 Dennis was united in marriage to Susan Holzwarth. To this union, two children were born, Lisa and David. He did some farming starting in 1971. Dennis worked as an engineer for the SD State Highway Department for 35 years, retiring in 2004.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Susan (Holzwarth) Schneider of Selby; one son, David of Selby; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa; his parents; and sister, Jean (Schneider) Denke.
