Since January 2023, George Albert Omore Magoha has taught surgery at Maseno University School of Medicine in Kisumu County, western Kenya.

He was a consultant surgeon, academic administrator, and technocrat from Kenya.

Prior to his current position, which began on March 26th, 2019, he served as Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Education.

George Magoha Death Cause And Obituary: How Did He Die? 

Following a heart arrest, Magoha passed away on Tuesday, January 24, in Nairobi Hospital. Michael Magoha, his kid, and his wife tried to save him.

He passed away in the hospital after being brought there after collapsing at home, despite vain attempts to revive him.

When he was in charge as a Cabinet Secretary of the Education Ministry, where he presided over operations, Prof. Magoha was renowned for being tough-talking and uncompromising.

Magoha passed away just over a month after the passing of his younger brother Alex Nyabera Magoha.

On December 6, 2022, Nyabera passed away in Allen, Texas in the United States; his cause of death was kept a secret.

On Saturday, January 28, 2023, the cortege was scheduled to depart from the Aga Khan Hospital Funeral Home in Kisumu before his burial.

Even more tragically, the family was forced into mourning in 2021 at the passing of their other sibling.

The cause of Charles Agunga Magoha’s death, which occurred on Tuesday, August 31, was similarly kept a secret.

From 2005 to 2015, he held the position of Vice-Chancellor at the University of Nairobi.

He was a professor of surgery at the College of Health Sciences at the University of Nairobi.

In addition, he worked as a consultant urologist at the university’s teaching hospital, Kenyatta National Hospital.

In 1952, he was born in Kisumu. Due to his (Magoha’s) asthma, he moved in with his older brother John Obare and his wife Agatha Christine Obare when he was a little child in Nairobi.

The largest capital city of Kenya, Nairobi, is where he attended Dr. David Livingstone Primary School.

After that, he went to Starehe Boys’ Center and School to finish his O-Level coursework.

After completing his A-Level coursework at Strathmore School, he received his high school diploma.

He received a scholarship to the University of Lagos in Nigeria to study human medicine.

He completed his education at the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in the United Kingdom, the University College Hospital in Ibadan, Nigeria, and the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.

He has received specialist urology training and is a Fellow of the Irish Royal College of Surgeons.

Career Details of Kenyan Surgeon George Magoha

Magoha was swiftly named chairman, dean, and principal at the College of Health Sciences at the turn of the century, and afterwards deputy vice-chancellor at the University of Nairobi.

Having received the highest rating from the applicants was named the vice-chancellor of the UoN in 2005.

His implementation of discipline among the academic staff, non-teaching employees, and students was his most noteworthy accomplishment at the UoN.

At the time he took office, staff members reportedly never worked, professors skipped lectures, and some even lost marks from student exams.

Student strikes were infamously frequent and had a negative impact on the school’s reputation.

He installed a safety valve for ventilation and stopped them from rioting by meeting with students freely to talk about their problems.

The number of times the students went on strike during his ten years as vice chancellor was lower than it was earlier.
