TULSA, Okla. (TCN) — A 50-year-old man has been arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of kidnapping after police allege he took a baby out of a mother’s shopping cart.
According to the Tulsa Police Department, police responded to a report of a kidnapping at a Walmart store on the afternoon of Sept. 8. When they arrived, they spoke to a woman who alleged that the suspect came up to her and they had a conversation about her two children.
He then allegedly took her 1-year-old out of her cart and put the child into his own cart and began to walk away. After confronting him and getting the child back, the mother locked herself in the bathroom with her children. The suspect was kicked out of Walmart by employees, who dialed 911.
When officers arrived, they located the suspect, Marshall Dixon, at a bus stop nearby. He allegedly told them “Yeah, I did that” when questioned about the incident, according to police. He was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and booked into jail.
