POCONO TOWNSHIP, Pa. (TCN) — New details have emerged regarding the suspect in a double homicide at a Great Wolf Lodge water park resort.
On Oct. 12, officers were dispatched to the Great Wolf Lodge after Metallica Harrison, 27, dialed 911 and alleged that she had killed her husband and son, according to a statement from the Pocono Township Police Department. She allegedly told dispatchers she needed assistance in finding a vein in her neck to stab. When they arrived, they found that Harrison had cuts on her body, and that her husband and 3-year-old son were deceased in the room, having suffered stab wounds to their chests.
In the ambulance, Harrison allegedly said, “Every day, I work so hard” to “be the best person, the best mother, the best wife,” and that “it wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child,” according to NBC News. She was charged with two counts of criminal homicide.
The family had reportedly been staying at the resort since Sept. 21 and extended their stay on Oct. 5. They had been scheduled to check out on Oct. 13, according to Oxygen True Crime.
On May 14, Capitol One reportedly filed a civil complaint against Harrison. The complaint stated that she owed the credit card company $11,824.36, according to Oxygen True Crime. On Aug. 17, Magisterial District Judge Todd Carr ordered Harrison to pay the full amount.
Harrison’s stepmother, April Thetga, said that Harrison had drained her husband’s 401(k) to pay for the resort trip and that the family had suffered from other financial hardships in recent months, per Oxygen True Crime.
WPVI reports that according to family members, Harrison allegedly never wanted to be a mother and resented their child because he took away time she could have spent with her husband.
