South Carolina mom allegedly scrolled on TikTok while letting strangers abuse daughters in exchange for money, drugs

BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (TCN) — A 27-year-old mother has been accused of allowing men to sexually assault her 4- and 7-year-old daughters in exchange for money and drugs.

The investigation into Helena Nichole Hoyle began Aug. 3 when authorities were contacted regarding the alleged sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl, WBRC reports. When she and her sister were interviewed, they both alleged they had been assaulted by multiple men. The 4-year-old also alleged she witnessed her older sister’s assault.

An arrest affidavit obtained by WKRC alleges Hoyle gave men access to the girls for money and drugs. During at least one alleged assault, Hoyle was present in the room with the child, scrolling on TikTok, the Post & Courier reports.

During their interviews with authorities, the children stated they could not brush their teeth or take baths because their house did not have running water, the Post & Courier reports. In addition, they said they had to use a bucket as a toilet.

Hoyle was arrested Aug. 14 and charged with two counts each of trafficking persons and child neglect. The Post & Courier reports she has a previous conviction for drug possession in 2025. Hoyle remains behind bars with bail set at $250,000, per WBRC.
