Steve McBee Sr. is opening up about his renewed outlook on life following his release from prison after pleading guilty to federal crop insurance fraud. The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys patriarch served nine months in federal prison in South Dakota before being released on Sept. 11. He is so grateful for his life today, as he explained in a new statement.
Steve Sr. took to his Instagram account on Sept. 29, where he filmed a video from his truck, thanking his Instagram followers for their support following his release. He admitted that the “adversity” that his family went through is “one of the things that you don’t expect in life but that you can take as one of those teachable moments in life and just learn from it,” he said. “It makes you stronger, makes you definitely understand and look at the little moments.”
He continued, noting how much time he has spent with his family following his release. “Being present in your kids’ and grandkids’ lives puts so much more weight and value to those moments and that time spent with what really matters in life,” he said. “It gives you, definitely, a bigger purpose in life than just trying to conquer everything out there that we come across.”
He added: “I appreciate the support of our family businesses, the car washes, McBee Farms and meat company and everything. You guys have been great.”

Steve McBee Sr. reveals how he learned to be “positive” following his release from prison
Steve Sr. said that he has been leading with optimism following his release from prison. “I look at everything from a positive point of view,” he said. “In life, it’s just those human experiences that we have that is an opportunity to learn and grow.”
He shared that being in prison gave him time to reflect on his life. “It’s the first time in my life in 33 years of owning businesses that I took the time to think, do some self-evaluation, and self-assessment without all the outside noise and distractions, and certainly wanted to use that time to the best of my ability to just become a better person and know what’s important in my life,” he said.

Steve McBee Sr. shares a look at his life as a grandfather
Steve Sr. has been spending so much time with his four sons and grandkids following his release from prison. He took to Instagram on Sept. 16, where he revealed that he was babysitting Cole McBee and Kacie Adkison’s oldest daughter, Blair Collins McBee.
Prior to this, he had met Cole and Kacie’s youngest daughter, Tate Collette McBee, after returning home to the family farm in Gallatin, Missouri. Cole took to his Instagram Story when Steve Sr. came home, posting a photo of him holding Tate in his arms, which his oldest son, Steven McBee Jr., posted to his Instagram Story. “So blessed to have the family back together. Dad and Tate have officially got to meet now,” Steve Jr. captioned the photo.
