Steven McBee Jr. is sharing what’s next for his dad, Steve McBee Sr., following his release from prison. The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys patriarch will be headed home to his family farm in Gallatin, Missouri, after being released from prison in South Dakota later this month. And Steven Jr. is so excited for his return.
“We cannot wait to have him back here,” Steven Jr. said during an Aug. 24 appearance on the podcast, Roxanne and Shantel. “I think prison and that time to do nothing or just read and reflect is going to be the best thing that ever happened to him.”
He continued, admitting that he has noticed a change in his dad since he reported to prison in December 2025. “I hope that the way he talks now, the way he acts now, and the things he says, I hope they stick whenever he gets out of prison,” he stated. “And if so, I think there’s a lot of good things to come.”
“He’s going to be a force to be reckoned with in a good way,” he added. “So again, I’m hoping for the best, and I hope it sticks. But as of what he’s saying right now, I think it’s going to be a really, really good thing for our family.”

Steven Jr. further predicted on the podcast that Steve Sr. will try to get closer to his ex-wife (and Steven Jr.’s mom), Kristi McBee, following his release from prison. He admitted during the podcast episode that Steve Sr.’s move of making Kristi the interim president of the McBee family’s company in his absence might have been a way of “trying to get my mom back.”
“That’s a move there that’s like, he’s trying to bring her back in so he — yeah, that’s my thoughts,” he stated. But Steven Jr. admitted that his parents are not a good match. “I love my dad. He’s a great dad to us. Obviously, my mom is an angel on earth, literally. But those two are so polar opposite.”

Steven McBee Jr. shares updates on his family’s finances today
During The McBee Dynasty Season 3, Steven Jr. had been so open about the struggles his family faced with their farm and finances ahead of Steve Sr. reporting to prison. But Steven Jr. admitted on the podcast more recently that their family is now seeing “the light” on the other side of things, by having “tough conversations” about the “tough problems” they need to solve.
“The next six to eight months, it feels like we’re finally getting everything like wrapped up, buttoned up, and we can start moving forward with our life and looking to the future, not solving problems from the past,” he explained.
