Kansas City, Missouri – Taylor Swift skipped the 2026 Emmy Awards on Sunday night, choosing instead to cheer on her husband Travis Kelce as the Kansas City Chiefs opened their season.
The Chiefs took on the Denver Broncos and dominated 31-10, with Taylor watching from the stands for the first time since she and Travis married in July at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The pop star was spotted sitting next to Tom Cruise and appeared visibly interested in the game, at one point covering her mouth and looking like she was praying during a play involving her husband.
Tay Tay looked perfectly on theme in a red-and-white gingham dress, red nails and her hair and bangs worn down.

Eagle-eyed fans also spotted the beautiful wedding ring on her left hand.
The win also marked a major milestone for Travis, per Fox Sports, who passed Jason Witten for the second-most receiving yards by a tight end in NFL history as he began his 14th season.
But while Taylor chose the football field over the Emmy stage, she still managed to make her presence felt during the awards show.
Although Taylor wasn’t physically at the Emmys, she still managed to become part of the ceremony through a pre-taped Law & Order sketch with host and close friend Mariska Hargitay.
The segment jokingly followed Mariska and her team trying to determine whether Taylor would attend the awards, poking fun at the elaborate theories Swifties create around her every move.
The 36-year-old star eventually appeared in the sketch and delivered a string of cryptic-sounding clues.

“Saccharide. Aries. From the vineyard. North or south,” Taylor says before insisting she hadn’t said anything.
The joke ended with Taylor holding Olivia Benson, her famous Scottish Fold cat, named in reference to Mariska’s Law & Order: SVU character.
The cameo also played on the longtime friendship between Taylor and Mariska, who attended Taylor and Travis’ July wedding.
