Teddi Mellencamp is opening up about why her divorce from Edwin Arroyave has not been finalized. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum announced that she and Edwin were divorcing in Nov. 2024, but things were put on hold due to her ongoing battle with cancer.
Teddi appeared on Jenny McCarthy’s podcast, The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show, on Oct. 27, where she opened up about her divorce from Edwin after 15 years of marriage. “So one, we’re technically not divorced,” she said. “But I mean, it is so over. He has a very serious girlfriend, who’s great. Who’s amazing.”
But Teddi, who is also in a relationship, shared that they are not legally divorced due to “all this medical stuff.” “I realized I was having a brain tumor as we were in the middle of the divorce, and the doctors are like, ‘She’s not really in the capacity to do this now.’ I had a doctor’s note,” she said.

Although Teddi and Edwin are not together, she admitted to Jenny that Edwin has “been there like a rock” for her amid her illness. She further revealed that her musician dad, John Mellencamp, had to talk to Edwin after she got sick. “I mean, my dad was very smart to have this conversation with Edwin. He just said, ‘Edwin, whatever you guys fought about beforehand really doesn’t make a difference. What you need is her to survive and just be there for her until she’s in remission, if you can do that.’ And his attitude completely changed,” she said of her dad’s ongoing support of her.
Even though both Teddi and Edwin have moved on romantically, they are still there for each other. “He knows now even, I will call him sometimes when I’m upset and be like, ‘Help me get out of this funk.’ Because he knows me so well. And I also think it’s different when you’re not in love with the person anymore,” she said.

Teddi also spoke to Jenny about her relationship with her boyfriend PJ Conley, who she has been dating for “a couple months.” “It’s very new,” she said. “He is good-looking. And he’s tall.”
Although Teddi said that she calls him the “guy I’m dating” and PJ calls her “the girl that I’m talking to exclusively,” there is no need to rush their relationship, even though he has met her kids. “We’ve been on trips together, and he sees what a chaotic situation my life is,” she said. “And he’s not in the public eye at all. So I think it’s a slow burn when you haven’t seen it before.”
