A Nevada man has admitted to mowing down a tourist couple with his Tesla while they were walking near the Las Vegas Strip with their 2-year-old in a stroller. Cops later found him at Topgolf.
“I just witnessed a hit-and-run, and the guy took off,” a witness reportedly told a 911 dispatcher, according to court documents obtained by local Fox affiliate KVVU.
Gavin Caci, 28, pleaded guilty on Monday to two counts of driving under the influence resulting in substantial bodily harm, two counts of reckless driving resulting in death or substantial bodily harm, and four counts of duty to stop at the scene of a crash involving death or personal injury.
A grand jury indictment obtained by Law&Crime says Caci failed to “pay full time and attention to driving” when he drunkenly hopped a curb near Harmon Avenue and Audrie Lane with his 2026 Tesla Model Y and struck the victims on Feb. 8.

The collision sent the toddler flying out of her stroller and into a light pole, according to local CBS affiliate KLAS. Her parents were also hurled into the air.
“I wasn’t sure she was alive or not, so I picked her up and she whimpered,” the father told a grand jury in March.
The child and her mother suffered life-threatening injuries, including brain bleeds, while the father sustained minor injuries. All three victims recovered and returned home to the United Kingdom.
Caci’s blood-alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit when he crashed into the family. His Tesla recorded the collision on its front and rear cameras, with the footage showing him driving on the sidewalk and striking the victims as they waited to cross the street.
Caci also hit a car after veering back onto the roadway.
“I followed him,” the witness who called 911 told the dispatcher after Caci fled the scene. “He looked like he was drinking. He walked out, and he was, like, stumbling a little bit.”
Caci, a Las Vegas club promoter, was seen driving to a Topgolf location at Harmon and Koval Lane, where his Tesla cameras caught him inspecting the damage after parking the vehicle. Police later located him there.
“Mr. Caci denied using any drugs or consuming any alcoholic beverages,” police said in his arrest report, according to KLAS. “When asked what and how much, he stated, ‘Give or take one or two.’ He stated he had tequila at a club and later believed he was at The Cosmopolitan Hotel, but could not recall the name of the club.”
The judge who accepted Caci’s change of plea reportedly allowed him to remain out of custody on high-level electronic monitoring until his sentencing. He is due to be sentenced on Oct. 13.
