Texas A&M Student Inexplicably Vanishes While Waiting on Uber Eats Order – Crime Online

The family of missing Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi student, Caleb Harris, is pleading for answers after he inexplicably disappeared while stepping outside briefly to pick up an Uber Eats order.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, the 21-year-old vanished on March 4 from his residence at The Cottages in Corpus Christi, at a little before 3 a.m. in the 1900 block of Ennis Joslin.

His father, Randy Harris, told Nancy Grace on Tuesday’s “Crime Stories” that everything seemed normal with his son and there were no issues to indicate he was in trouble or left willinigly.

He stepped outside his apartment at around 2:44 a.m., without his keys or shoes, and sent a Snapchat to his sister. He then made an Uber food order around a minute later.

At around 3:03 a.m., Caleb sent a Snapchat to his best friend at a bridge next to his apartment complex. Then, his phone either died or was turned off shortly after.

“When someone seemingly walks away into the fog, we wonder why. That’s not what happened here. He didn’t just walk away,” Grace said. “Look at this guy. No sign ever of depression or any kind of emotional problems…This guy did not disappear on his own. I’d stake everything on it.”

The food arrived at the apartment at 3:20 a.m. but the order was still there, outside his apartment, the following morning. Caleb’s two roommates contacted police at around 11 a.m.

Assistant Chief Todd Green with the Corpus Christi Police Department confirmed that the food order was delivered at 3:20 a.m. The Uber driver, identified as a female driver, was questioned and cleared.

“She did report seeing one other vehicle leaving the parking lot. We believe we have identified the driver of that vehicle and have eliminated that individual as a suspect,” he said.

Green added that investigators haven’t yet “settled on one theory” and are letting “the evidence lead us to where we think what happened.”

Meanwhile, Randy Harris says he is leaning on his faith and family as the search continues.

“It’s hard, we are a family of faith–that’s where our strength comes from,” Randy said. “I cry a lot, but my wife is my rock, my daughter is my rock, my inlaws, my family, my church.”

“We feel the love, the love of Christ just radiating, giving us the adrenaline, really, just to keep going.”

Harris is described as a white male who stands 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs around 180 pounds. He has brown hair, and brown eyes and doesn’t have his wallet or vehicle with him.

“This kid is scrubbed in sunshine. There’s no other way to put it,” Grace said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact the Corpus Christi Police Department at 361-886-2840 or 361-886-2600. Tipsters can also contact university police at 361-825-4444.

There is currently a $25,000 reward for information that leads to the safe return of Caleb.
