McKINNEY, Texas (TCN) — A 41-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison for impregnating his 17-year-old daughter.
Collin County District Attorney Greg Willis announced that Leslie Price was sentenced on July 22 after being found guilty of prohibited sexual conduct. The investigation began on Sept. 10, 2024, when a 17-year-old girl called the authorities to report that her father, Leslie Price, had sexually assaulted her; she was three months pregnant at the time she made the report.
Price was arrested following a forensic interview with the victim, according to the DA, and a search of Price’s devices found he had searched the internet about the age of consent, how to obtain an abortion, and whether a 17-year-old could become pregnant. After Price’s daughter gave birth in March, authorities collected DNA samples and confirmed that Price was the father of his grandchild.
CBS News reports that Price’s trial began in June, and he was found guilty July 1 following a presentation to the jury of DNA evidence by the prosecution. In addition to the DNA evidence, WFAA reports that prosecutors also told jurors about Price’s criminal history; he had spent time in prison for assault family violence and organized criminal activity.
Willis said, “Leslie Price committed the ultimate betrayal — he sexually assaulted his own 17-year-old daughter and fathered her child. A Collin County jury convicted him and the judge sentenced him to life in prison. This verdict protects our community and delivers justice for a young victim who showed tremendous courage.”
