WOODWAY, Texas (TCD) — Officials recently took a woman into custody on suspicion of pulling a child by the hair and head and making him drink out of a toilet bowl.
According to a news release from the Woodway Public Safety Department (PSD), a child arrived at school in tears and told school officials he had been dragged to a bathroom. Claudia Velediaz-Bonifazi allegedly forced the child to drink water from the toilet bowl, and the boy lost pieces of hair. Authorities did not specify Velediaz-Bonifazi’s relationship to the victim but said the boy was in her care at the time.
The PSD worked alongside Child Protective Services in the case. Investigators allege the child was also subjected to multiple violent incidents “ranging from being punched, hit with miscellaneous objects, and not being fed for long periods of time.”
Officials arrested Velediaz-Bonifazi on Wednesday, April 3, on a charge of injury to a child with intent to cause bodily injury.
Authorities said the child has been safely placed with a family member.
