West Wilson returned to social media on Wednesday, April 15, for a very special reason — to wish his mom a happy birthday. The Summer House cast member shared throwback family photos with his mom on his Instagram Stories, along with some messages for his special lady on her big day.
“Happy birthday, mom,” he captioned one photo of her standing solo in a garden. He then captioned a collage of photos with his mom from over the years with the term “ILYSM” (short for “I love you so much”) written twice across the post.
While West often posts inside looks at his life on Instagram, he posts about his family less frequently. He did share a photo with his mom by his side in May 2014, taken at his college graduation. He simply captioned it, “You da best.”

What West Wilson learned from his parents’ relationship
Previously, West shed light about how he feels regarding finances and romance, citing his own parents’ dynamic as an example (his mom is a doctor and his dad is a rancher). “I’m in a unique situation because I grew up in a household where my mother made more money than my father. And we have a very funny family story. I don’t know, I was at some work party with my mom or something one time, and someone said, ‘Are you gonna be a doctor when you grow up?’ And I go, ‘No, I’m not a girl,’ because I just, I didn’t know the difference,” he said on his podcast. “So it’s not weird to me, and I think I would be much more suited to be with someone who had more money than me, maybe than someone who grew up in a more traditional household.”

West Wilson sheds light on his dad’s work as a rancher on their family’s farm
In July 2025, West released a limited-edition silk scarf as an homage to his dad, sharing new looks at his father’s work on their family farm. He also detailed the importance of the clothing item to his family.
“The Clover L Bandana — Before I ever wore one, my dad was wearing silk scarves on our ranch in Missouri. They kept him free of dust and debris and warm when it was cold out,” he wrote last year. “The Clover L symbol in the corners of the scarf is my great grandfather’s cattle brand that was registered in 1965. His name was Dr. Warren Lovinger thus the L on the stem of the Clover reps the family name.”
In the past, West Wilson has shed more light on his life before Summer House, including details on his own career evolution.
