West Wilson Quits on Camera

Roughly one month after the reunion, West Wilson appeared to already know that his time on Summer House could be coming to an end. In fact, West theorized that he would no longer be on the show in a moment with Kyle Cooke from Season 10’s special bonus episode, Summer House: The Aftermath.

How to Watch

Summer House airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo. Episodes stream next day on Peacock.

While explaining his intentions for his sit-down with Kyle, which was filmed on May 20, West noted that he’d originally suggested that they talk privately. “This won’t make it, but, like, my time on camera is over,” he declared, going on to refer to the “bad job” he did at the Season 10 reunion.

“In my experience, anything I’ve done following it, publicly, has landed poorly,” West elaborated. “And so, I didn’t want you to think I, like, waited ’til the reunion was over and then, like, gathered myself and then was like, ‘Oh, let’s film a scene together’ kind of thing. The processing and, like, slowing down and just sort of, like, soaking it all in didn’t really happen until the last two weeks.”

Kyle, meanwhile, appeared to be unfazed by West’s comment and simply asked if his soul-searching had just taken place “post reunion.”

“Post reunion and post just adrenaline,” West answered, before referencing his dating scandal with Amanda Batula. “I mean, when this all happened, everything was just such a f–king disaster tornado, and there’s so many layers to this. But, like, the friendship part of this has been really hard to process. To watch it fully implode with other people who you care about, I care about, um, f–kin’ sucks. … It’s really f–king hard to know that something so special, like, I f–kin’ super fractured.”

A timeline of West Wilson’s Summer House journey

West joined the Summer House cast for Season 8, which was filmed in 2023, and was introduced to the group through Lindsay Hubbard.

According to West’s Season 8 bio, “After being laid off during a mass staff change, he is on the hunt for the next opportunity. When it comes to dating, West’s biggest hurdle is being able to commit. As he turns on his Midwestern charm and quickly focuses his attention on a fellow housemate, will this be his chance to push himself to take things past the casual dating stage?”

Throughout his three-season run on the show, West, who works as a sports journalist, navigated a romance with castmate Ciara Miller, followed by the aftermath of their public breakup the next summer. Amid plenty of ups and downs, the two eventually rekindled their friendship during Season 10.

West also grew closer to Amanda while providing support through her and Kyle’s marital issues. After filming wrapped, West and Amanda confirmed they were dating via a joint statement on March 31. Their relationship ultimately sparked a major divide in the cast’s friendships.

How West Wilson ended Summer House Season 10

West and Amanda defended their relationship throughout the three-part reunion, and in the end, the Missouri native declared to host Andy Cohen that he was still “very much committed” to their future together. During his post-reunion sit-down with Kyle, West maintained that was still his plan, though he and Amanda had yet to figure out if they were actually “in love” with each other.

“But, like, I do, like, love her and, like, have,” West told Kyle in May. “I have cared about her for a very, very long time, and it’s hard to say that f–king right to your face.”

A bit later, he added, “I regret so many f–king things, but the one thing I cannot regret and I’m not gonna … take back is my feelings for Amanda and, like, developing feelings and caring about her. I won’t. I can’t apologize for that, because it happened.”

As for West’s cast friendships, he admitted that he’d “lied” to Kyle, Ciara, Lindsay, Jesse Solomon, and his ex Meija Moreno in the early days of his and Amanda’s romance. “I have owed, unfortunately, a lot of people apologies,” West conceded at the end of their meetup.
