Although Heather and her ex-husband, Billy, divorced in 2015, Tripp is the first person Heather has called her boyfriend on RHOSLC. Heather confessed that not only is the relationship new, but Tripp is also “the first boyfriend [she’s] ever really had” in her life.
She explained her Mormon background has much to do with that, adding, “I just didn’t really date growing up. I’ve never had a boyfriend I was, like, sleeping with and dating, because I just never had a boyfriend like that.” Instead, Heather had simply jumped “straight into marriage” with her ex-husband Billy.

Still, Heather has always made clear that she was keeping her heart open to love. “I do just fine,” Heather revealed of her dating life during her Nov. 14, 2021 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “I have not hooked up with a guy that has slid into my DMs just because he slid in to my DMs, but I am not opposed to it.”
Heather has since clarified her dating life after divorce, before she met Tripp, wasn’t anything serious. “Just kind of f—ked around. But never had a boyfriend. Never was in a serious relationship,” she admitted to Bravo Insider.
During BravoCon 2025, just one month before getting into a relationship with Tripp, Heather shared she was ready for more serious dating due to being an empty nester now that her daughters Georgia, Ashley, and Annabelle have moved out.
“I am starting to date. The girls are out of the house, and it’s really a new chapter for me—a new era,” she said at the time. “You know, it’s like a totally—everyone knows it’s like a new chapter for me in my life, and I’m really excited about it.”
