“I’ve been dating a gentleman now four-and-a-half years,” she revealed in an exclusive interview with Bravo Insider. “We actually just bought a house together in La Quinta [California]. We have a good life.”
Vicki detailed more of her living situation with Michael during The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 20 premiere. “Mike, my boyfriend, and I, we live primarily in Coto De Caza [California], and we go between La Quinta, and my favorite place, Puerto Vallarta [Mexico],” she added.
She expressed how different this relationship is than others in her past while chatting with Shannon Beador during the July 9 premiere. “He can do his thing, I can do my thing and we know we’re going to be home together,” she shared.
“Four years into our relationship, Mike fills my emotional love tank,” Vicki confirmed to producers. “Like, I know when I’m with him, I feel empowered. I feel good. He accepts me.” She joked, “I’m a lot to accept.”

Who is Vicki Gunvalson’s boyfriend Michael Smith?
Michael is a businessman originally from Texas, according to Vicki. She shared that Michael accepted an out-of-state job in 2024 that briefly had the two in a long distance relationship at times.
“He’s a developer. He’s doing a project that’s going to be a couple of years,” she explained during a November 2024 episode of her podcast, My Friend, My Soulmate, My Podcast. “But we live together in California but he’s going back and forth and it’s hard. It’s my new normal now.”
Vicki has been open about her relationship with Michael’s daughter, Olivia, and attended Olivia’s June 2025 wedding to Adam Webb. She revealed during a 2023 interview with Housewives Nightcap that Olivia actually now works for Vicki’s company, Coto Insurance and Financial Services, as an operations specialist.

The same year, Vicki gushed about her new boyfriend in an interview with Extra. “He is so private and so classy and wants nothing to do with social media and Instagram,” he said. “He’s just a good person, like a good guy.”

Vicki also disclosed during a July 2022 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she’d actually known Michael for some time before taking their relationship to the next level. “I actually met Michael seven years ago, and he gave me his number, and I never called him,” she told Andy Cohen. “Seven years later…”
Is Vicki Gunvalson married?
No, Vicki is not currently married.
However, she revealed during a recent exclusive interview with Bravo Insider that she’s felt some pressure to tie the knot with her boyfriend Michael.“Unfortunately I got divorced on the show. Dated two bad boys. Now I’m dating somebody else,” she shared. “And, I’ll show a little bit of him, but he didn’t sign up for the show.”
Of the other RHOC ‘Wives, she added, “And so they’re always picking at me about why we’re not married—like, stop. I think too much of it is trying to create drama when there isn’t any there.”
Who has Vicki Gunvalson been married to previously?
Vicki has been married twice, first to Michael J. Wolfsmith, then to Donn Gunvalson.
Vicki’s first husband: Michael J. Wolfsmith
Before joining RHOC, Vicki was married to Michael J. Wolfsmith from 1982 to 1991. They had two children together: daughter Briana, and son, Michael Wolfsmith.
Michael detailed how he met Vicki during the RHOC series premiere, as he celebrated Briana’s high school graduation with Vicki. “I met Vicki working at a grocery store,” he shared. “I was a bagger and she was a cashier.”
Vicki admitted at the time that they were young and in love—but it didn’t last. “I married very young. I was 21 years old. I was a young mom by the time I was almost 24,” Vicki recalled. “[Michael and I] were very much of a mismatch.”
Vicki’s second husband: Donn Gunvalson
Vicki’s then-husband Donn was by her side when RHOC debuted. The two married in 1994, and made the decision to renew their vows on a Turks & Caicos beach in front of cameras during RHOC Season 5, while celebrating 15 years of marriage.
Just a few months after their recommitment to each other aired, Vicki filed for divorce from Donn in October 2010, and their divorce was finalized in 2014.
Vicki revealed during RHOC’s July 16 episode that she recently ran into Donn while she was with her boyfriend, Mike. “I took Donn’s face, and I said, ‘I hope you’re doing good,’” Vicki shared with Tamra Judge.
She admitted to Tamra that she had regrets about divorcing Donn. “I just wanted to hug him and kiss him. I just wanted to be like, ‘I’m so sorry I divorced you.’ I didn’t mean to do that,” she confessed.

Vicki revealed the encounter with Donn had left her shaken. “It was a nice encounter, so to speak. But it was hard for me,” she told producers. “Because I flashed back to all our life together. Vowed to be together for forever. It’s hard.”
But, Vicki reflected that she’d changed since she was married to Donn. “I know I’m a different person now with Michael than I was with Donn,” she admitted. “I value our time together more than I did when I was married, because I took it for granted.”

In addition to her marriage and divorce from Donn, Vicki has had several other relationships play out on cameras in the twenty years since RHOC debuted, including with ex-boyfriend Brooks Ayers and ex-fiancé Steve Lodge.
Vicki’s ex-boyfriend: Brooks Ayers
Vicki dated Brooks between 2012 and 2015, and their relationship was filled with conflict and controversy.
The downfall of Vicki and Brooks’ relationship occurred when Brooks claimed he’d been diagnosed with and was being treated for cancer, which was questioned by many, including RHOC alum Meghan King, during Season 10. Although Vicki stood by Brooks, she later admitted she believed she’d been duped by Brooks. Brooks later confessed to fabricating hospital documents concerning his alleged cancer.
Vicki’s ex-fiancé: Steve Lodge
Vicki began dating Steve in the spring of 2016, and by April 2019, Vicki and Steve announced their engagement with a party that was filmed for RHOC. But the two never made it down the aisle, and Vicki shared Steve called off their engagement one day before she arrived at Dorinda Medley’s Berkshires home for the filming of The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club in 2021.
“We are now officially broken up. My heart is broken and I don’t know what happened,” she shared during RHUGT. But, Vicki later hinted at issues in her relationship with Steve.
“A year ago I bought a place in Mexico, and he decided to live there more than California,” she recalled to the other ‘Wives. She also revealed they hadn’t “had sex in 13 months” leading up to their breakup.
