Why Lindsay Hubbard Comforted Carl Radke Amid Kyle Cooke Fight

Any lingering post-breakup drama between Lindsay Hubbard and  Carl Radke seemed to fall by the wayside when she stepped in to diffuse his heated argument with Kyle Cooke on Summer House Season 10.

How to Watch

As Carl and Kyle’s fight escalated during Episode 15, several cast members intervened before the situation got out of control. When Carl walked back inside the house, still fuming that he was “sick of this f–king s–t,” Lindsay instinctively focused her attention on her ex-fiancé.

“Carl, look at me. Take a deep breath,” she told him.

When Carl continued to vent about Kyle “flipping out” on him, Lindsay insisted that she understood where he was coming from, but simply repeated, “Take a deep breath.”

Even so, Carl was still going off about his and Kyle’s fight, and so, again, she said, “I need you to take a deep breath, please.”

How Lindsay Hubbard got involved in Carl Radke and Kyle Cooke’s fight

Once Carl eventually calmed down, Lindsay said that she felt bad that she’d “instigated” the fight. (ICYMI: The drama began during her second annual “freedom dinner,” which kicked off in the previous episode, after Lindsay called out Kyle for supposedly not including Amanda Batula in his decision to center his career around DJing.)

A bit later, Lindsay told Kyle directly, “I was not trying to rattle you. I did not expect it to go there. I think we were all thrown about your Vegas residency that nobody knew about.”

Ben Waddell, meanwhile, chimed in to clarify that Kyle was only flying to Las Vegas for a one-night gig, not a full residency, prompting Lindsay to add, “I think that’s the confusion.”

Kyle, for his part, explained to Lindsay that he’d already been feeling “vulnerable [and] sensitive” after an earlier conversation with Ciara Miller about him and Amanda separating for a month. So, when Lindsay put his DJ career on blast, and Carl and the others joined in, Kyle said he’d felt “attacked” and as if he was getting “blamed for f–king everything” going wrong in his marriage.

“I know, and I feel really bad,” Lindsay told Kyle. “And you have a lot of pressure. … But, Kyle, we have to work on your reactions. Like, you gotta stop saying, ‘F–k you,’ to Amanda. Like, that absolutely has to stop.”

When Kyle further shared that he felt as though Amanda had “deserted” him, Lindsay countered, “And maybe she feels deserted when you go and DJ and then go out and stay out late, and then she’s getting DMs. Like, that leaves someone feeling abandoned as well. And that’s what you have to understand.”

Inside Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke’s friendship evolution on Summer House Season 10

As Lindsay recently noted, she’s been friends with Kyle longer than anyone else in the cast. Her dynamic with Carl in Summer House‘s May 12 episode, on the other hand, was a much more recent development.

At the beginning of Season 10, Lindsay updated a producer on how Carl was never at the “top of [her] mind” anymore. “I don’t give a f–k,” she declared. “I gave that up when we broke up. I really, truly do not think about this man.”

As Carl, meanwhile, weighed in, “being friendly and cordial” was most likely “the best course of action” for them. So, he decided early on to just “go with the flow.”

The ice began to melt, however, when Lindsay gave newbie Bailey Taylor the green light to date Carl, and even more so later on when she invited him to her housewarming party. Carl even arrived at the NYC bash with a gift for Lindsay’s daughter, Gemma.

Fast-forward to the opening of Carl’s Soft Bar in Brooklyn in Episode 13, and Lindsay returned the favor by bringing him a nostalgic gift of her own: a plush teddy bear. That’s when Carl made an unexpected statement about his ex.

“I miss her, 100 percent. I do. I miss the friendship that I’ve had with Lindsay,” he confessed to producers. “This little moment of the teddy bear, even if it’s a little backhanded or silly or whatever she’s going for here, it means a lot to me.”

As she, Carl, and their castmates approach the Summer House Season 10 finale, find out why Lindsay also felt caught in the middle of Kyle and Amanda’s drama.
