In a Below Deck Mediterranean first, police approached M/Y Akira One as it was docked in Slano Bay, Croatia, and demanded to speak to Captain Sandy Yawn. The reason? Loud music and dancing guests.

As the officers pulled up next to the yacht during Season 11, Episode 14, only stew Gen Lillie and brand-new deckhand Massimiliano “Massi” Scarci were still awake to greet them.
“You need to put down the camera,” one of the officers ordered the Below Deck Med production crew. Another officer explained, “We hear music. Music is maximum [11 p.m.]. We must give you a penalty.”
The orders followed an earlier dance party aboard the yacht for the guests, in which the crew hired a DJ to spin some tracks. The party died down just after 1 a.m., with primary guest Jeff declaring, “This is epic. I’m never going to be able to top this.”
Although the party had ended by the time police arrived, the crew learned “somebody reported music” after hours, and they were forced to wake up Captain Sandy.
“I’m real sorry. I promise it won’t happen again,” Sandy assured the officers during the Sept. 7 episode, and the crew was able to avoid a fine.
“This time we’ll give you a warning, but next time if someone reports your music or something, we must give you a penalty,” an officer warned.
Sandy took the unexpected police presence in stride, commenting to producers, “Having the police come up to your boat is never a warm experience.” She joked of the new deckhand’s encounter with officers: “Welcome to Akira One, Massi!”
What are the Croatia noise ordinances that were broken on Below Deck Med Season 11?
Croatia marinas have strict rules when it comes to yachts and boats, particularly when it comes to noise. According to the Dubrovnik marina website, yachts may not “disturb the peace of other guests with a noise, especially at night from 22:00 until 7:00″ (10 p.m. to 7 a.m.)

Other issues aboard on Below Deck Med Season 11
The Sept. 7 episode wasn’t the first time the noise ordinance in Croatia has been an issue for the Below Deck Med Season 11 crew. You’ll recall the deck crew accidentally crashed into the dock during the season premiere, and the reason was nearby party boats.
“They are definitely breaking the noise ordinance,” Captain Sandy commented at the time of the loud boats holding dozens of dancing guests docked at the marina.

Despite the crash, the yacht was okay to finish the charter season — but Sandy still made a call to complain about the noise to marina staff.
