Police in Georgia say a second woman has been arrested for the murder of a man last seen in July leaving his Atlanta home for a date.
Audrey Zalky, 21, was arrested Friday in Carroll County, the Atlanta Police Department confirmed to Law&Crime on Saturday. According to Atlanta ABC affiliate WSB, Zalky is the second person to be charged with the murder of Leondre Flynt, 21, who disappeared earlier this year.
According to police, Zalky has been charged with murder and concealing the death of another. She is currently awaiting extradition to Atlanta, police said.
Jail records and an incident report identify the offense date as July 29, 2023, although police first were aware of the possible murder on Aug. 16, 2023. The investigation has reportedly revealed that Flynt had met Zalky online and was communicating with her before his disappearance.
Destiny Stephens, was arrested in November in connection with Flynt’s death, WSB had previously reported. Jail records show that she has been charged with murder and concealing the death of another. Her arrest came after Atlanta police searched an apartment and revealed evidence that they say show Flynt was shot and killed on July 29 — the last time his family heard from him.
A third person, Ahmir Bobo, is believed to have been involved in Flynt’s murder and hiding his body.
Police learned there had been a “shots fired” call at 12:18 p.m. at the same apartment complex where Flynt was believed to have been headed the day he disappeared, WSB reported. A resident at the apartment complex reportedly told police that they had a bullet hole in their unit. Bobo lived in the apartment across from that unit, and reportedly told police that a gun inside his apartment went off when a female friend was handling it.
Investigators reportedly tracked Flynt’s car to a Lowe’s in Atlanta the day he disappeared. Surveillance from the hardware store reportedly shows Stephens and Zalky get out of Flynt’s car and go inside, where they allegedly bought a hand saw and bolt cutters.
Doorbell security footage reportedly shows a man moving large items on a furniture dolly from the direction of Bobo’s apartment to the elevators later that night, WSB reported.
Stephens’ cellphone records put her near Bobo’s apartment at the time of the “shots fired” call and in the area of the Lowe’s where she and Zalky were seen on surveillance footage, according to WSB.
The car was tracked to a CVS store in Detroit, Michigan, two days later, WSB reported. That store was reportedly a 20-minute drive from an address listed on Bobo’s Michigan ID card.
Flynt’s car has reportedly not been found.
On Aug. 16, maintenance workers at the Buckhead apartment complex where police believe Flynt was killed reported finding blood and dark reddish stains on a railing, as well as a blood trail into the complex parking garage.
Atlanta police have confirmed to Law&Crime that the investigation is ongoing.
