Yvonne Najor reveals how she knew she was ready for kids
Yvonne spoke with Bravo Insider in June, where she opened up about her timeline for having kids with Nick. “When we were getting ready to get married, we were ready to start a family. And as soon as we got married, Nick was like, ‘Oh, let’s push this off. We can wait a little longer. A little longer.’ It was almost like he was moving the goalpost. But I knew deep down inside he wants to be a dad,” she admitted.
But she always knew that he would be a great dad. “This is a weird example, but part of the reason I fell in love with Nick is just the way he treats animals,” she explained. “He’s the best dog dad in the entire world. He makes our dog organic meals for every single meal. Our dog is like an extension of our family. I knew he wanted to be a dad and you have these tough conversations, and you don’t want to be the person who’s pushing your husband to rush something like that.”
“But we finally were able to kind of like break through and have a real conversation about his real reservations around waiting, and now here we are,” she concluded.

She also opened up about how she was preparing for the arrival of their child. “My apartment currently looks like an Amazon fulfillment center for babies. There is so much stuff,” she admitted. “Babies need a lot of stuff. I think this baby has more stuff than I’ve accumulated in my lifetime. It’s crazy.”
She and Nick also designed a nursery for the baby in their apartment. “I still haven’t decided on a wallpaper. That’s the hardest part,” she noted. “I want to do a room with all clouds. And then I want to do a jungle room. They’re so different.”
In a separate interview in July, Nick also spoke on their prep ahead of the baby’s birth. “We’re definitely getting the nursery ready. If I panned this camera around my living room, all you would see is boxes full of baby stuff that was generously sent in by, you know, family and friends. A lot of it from the shower. We’re still trying to figure out where to put it all. But we’re getting closer and still working on the nursery too.”Â
He added, “But we’re all very hard at work. I can assure you.”
Yvonne Najor opens up about her “village” amid her pregnancy
Prior to giving birth, Yvonne had been so thankful for her “village” for showing up for her throughout her pregnancy and throwing her baby shower in late May. “A room full of women I love, admire, and somehow get to call my friends,” she wrote in the caption of an Instagram post shared to her account on June 3.
“Feeling incredibly grateful for the village that’s carried me through every chapter and is showing up for this one too,” she added.

Yvonne Najor shares a look inside her baby shower with her In The City cast members
Yvonne celebrated her pregnancy and her baby’s arrival with a baby shower in late May. In The City cast members Danielle Olivera and Lindsay Hubbard took to their Instagram Stories at the time, where they posted so many photos from the Where The Wild Things Are- inspired bash.
In the photos, Danielle and Lindsay can be seen standing next to Yvonne, along with Lexi Sundin, Whitney Fransway, Georgina Ferzli, and Katie Arundel. “ITC babes,” Lindsay wrote over one photo.
Yvonne Najor and Nick Barber open up about becoming parents for the first time
The new parents spoke with PEOPLE in May ahead of the arrival of their child, where they opened up about the excitement they had to become parents for the first time. “We’re beyond excited to become parents and start this new chapter together,” they said. “Growing our family is something we’ve dreamed about for so long and we feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by so much love and support as we prepare to welcome our baby.”
“Becoming parents is such a big step and like any couple, we’ve had a lot of conversations about what the right timing looked for us,” they continued. “You’ll see some of that journey unfold this season on In The City as we navigated these decisions together, but standing where we are now, we couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.”
