15-Year-Old Florida Girl Shot Dead in Robbery Attempt After Movie With Friends – Crime Online

A 15-year-old Florida girl was shot and killed during a robbery Sunday night while she and her friends were walking to McDonald’s after seeing movie.

Cape Coral Police said Kayla Rincon-Miller and two other girls were walking along Del Prado Boulevard just after 9:30 p.m. when a car pulled up and blinded them with their lights.

The occupants of the car tried to rob the girls, and one of them opened fire, shooting Rincon-Miller in the chest. The car sped off, the girls said. The girls told police they did not know the shooter.

“[I’m] honestly not good at all,” Bailee Powell, one of Rincon-Miller’s friends, told WESH. “I’ve been crying all day every time I think of her… I like, it’s not real. I’m in denial right now. She’s just literally my best friend since I can’t even imagine. We went everywhere together, football games, track meet, Sunsplash.”

The other girl, Elyse De Jesus, described her friend as “my passenger princess.”

“She was always in my car,” DeJesus said. “I would like go get my hair done and we would just sit there, wherever, or sometimes the gas station, not even buy anything.”

Police said they were working to identify the suspect or suspects in the car. Anyone with information is asked to call them at 239-574-3223.
