A 79-year-old former Michigan middle school paraprofessional has been charged with sending inappropriate messages to a minor.
Michigan State Police launched an investigation last September when the child, whose name and age was not disclosed, reported the texts and Snapchats.
“The victim knew the suspect, identified as 79-year-old Sue Ann Asch from Kalkaska,” state police said, adding that the child was interviewed at the Children’s Advocacy Center in Traverse City.

State police said they seized multiple electronic devices from Asch’s home and secured a warrant for her arrest on January 8. After learning about the warrant, Asch surrendered to police.
She was arraigned on Monday on one count of accosting children for immoral purposes and given a $5,000 bond.
