Florida Man Guns Down His Brothers on New York Hunting Trip – Crime Online

A Florida man has been arrested for allegedly gunning down his two brothers while the siblings were on a hunting trip in New York state.

New York State Police said they were called by one of the brothers just after 10 p.m. Sunday night in the midst of an altercation. Police say Scot Thompson, 65, shot and killed his brothers, 69-year-old David Thompson and 70-year-old Mark Thompson, with a rifle and then fled in David Thompson’s vehicle.

An alert was issued for the vehicle, and the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and Geneseo Police Department found it and took Scot Thompson into custody. He has been charged with two counts of second degree murder and two counts of criminal use of a firearm.

Scot Thompson and David Thompson were both from Florida, Scot from Englewood and David from Port Charlotte. Mark Thompson was from Canterbury, Connecticut.

The shooting took place in a hunting cabin in the minuscule town of Allen in southwestern New York.

John Sweeney, David Thompson’s brother-in-law, told WBBH that Scot Thompson called David’s wife, Jane, and apologized.

“I just can’t believe it because I’ve hunted with all three of those guys,” Sweeney said. “I’ve met him before. I was surprised, so he called Jane last night and apologized.”

Sweeney said David and Jane Thompson had recently retired to Florida.
