Vicki Gunvalson is really looking forward to 2026. Not only is she returning to The Real Housewives of Orange County for Season 20 (more on that down below), but she is taking a step back from her business, Coto Insurance & Financial Services, Inc.
Vicki spoke with Heather Dubrow at BravoCon 2025, where she revealed that she will be selling Coto Insurance in a video posted to Instagram on Dec. 29. However, she won’t be removed from the company entirely. “I’m manifesting enjoying my life more. I’ve been working too hard for too long,” she explained. “My business is going up for sale. I’m still going to be retained as a significant other.”
“I want to do what I want to do, I want to get up, I want to work out more, I want to learn how to dance,” she continued. “I don’t know how to dance. And I want to travel more. That’s my goal. It’s not work all day every day 10 hours a day.”
Vicki first started working in insurance in the suburbs of Chicago in 1991 and “quickly became the top agent in her company within the first year of her career,” according to Coto Insurance’s website. From there, she moved to Orange County and became the founder and president of Coto Insurance & Financial Services, Inc., which she built from the ground up. In the years since it became a family business as her son, Michael Wolfsmith, is the Vice President of Life Insurance at Coto Insurance & Financial Services, Inc.
Vicki Gunvalson shares her goals for the new year in 2026
Vicki also has some major goals for 2026, in addition to working less. The mom of two took to her Instagram account on Dec. 29, where she shared her goals for the new year over a video of her laughing while dancing on stage. “The 2026 fun bus is ready to leave the station!!” she wrote in the caption of the post.

Vicki revealed that in 2026, she wants: “Endless woohoos and whoop-it-ups, an overflowing love tank, never-ending work days, more fun with my friends, soulmates & sisters; a kick ass RHOC Season 20.”
Vicki Gunvalson shares her thoughts on retirement from her insurance career
Vicki had previously opened up about retiring during a July 23 episode of her podcast, My Friend My Soulmate, My Podcast. During the episode, Vicki admitted that her boyfriend, Michael Smith, had wanted to open a bar but decided against it. However, they had floated the idea of her retiring sometime soon.
“Mike wants me to consider working three or four days a week versus eight,” she explained on the podcast. “And I’m open to that. What do people do when they’re retired? What do people do [when] they don’t work? Help me… I don’t have any hobbies… I used to crochet… I raised kids.”
She added, “I think the people who are retired and have no purpose, they die.”

Vicki formally accepted the opportunity to return to RHOC as a cast member during BravoCon 2025. Vicki made an appearance at The Bravos on Nov. 15, when Real Housewives executive producer, Andy Cohen, presented her with an orange and asked her to join the cast of RHOC Season 20. Vicki, in reply, said “yes.”

Andy continued to open up about Vicki’s return to RHOC at BravoCon during an Ask Andy event on Nov. 16. “We will gather, and we will work on where we’re going with Season 20,” he explained. “I was so excited to give Vicki that orange back. We don’t take it lightly that The Real Housewives of Orange County is turning 20, and so we thought it would be a really fun thing to bring her back. And I really wanted to do it in front of all of you.”
