McBee Dynasty Brothers Share Harsh Update on Family Business

The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys family is sharing a candid update on farm life.

Jesse McBee, the second oldest of the McBee four, recently took to his Instagram Stories to share a view of the family’s Gallatin, Missouri farm as they worked in 1 degree-temperatures.

Meanwhile, big brother Steven McBee Jr. shared an Instagram reel on Jan. 2  about working through the cold season, stating, “Still choose this over an office job.”

Indoor heaters inside the barn, drone footage of the snow-covered acres, and the warm breath of cattle hitting the cold air were just some of the wintertime shots shared by the acting head of the farm. As he wrote in the caption, “More freedom than a cubicle, even if it comes with frozen fingers.”

Longtime farmhand Jake Denton used the opportunity to joke in the comments section, “All them heaters in there it kind of looks like an office.” Furthermore, when Cole McBee’s fiancée Kacie Adkison facetiously told Steven, “It’s your lucky day bc I heard there’s an opening for a cattle guy,” Jake replied, “No there’s not. Thanks though!”

But, all kidding aside, there was work that had to be done, as Steven detailed in a separate Instagram post on Jan. 24.

How the McBees are managing the family business in their father’s absence

Family patriarch Steve McBee Sr. continues to serve a two-year sentence in a South Dakota federal prison following his 2024 crop insurance fraud conviction, leaving sons Steven, Jesse, Cole, and Brayden McBee to live with the fallout from financial and business-related issues.

On the Dec. 9 episode of the family’s newly rebranded podcast, More Than McBee — as hosted by Steven and his girlfriend, Allie Eklund — Steven touched on the men’s involvement in their expansive family business, which includes not just the farm but their chain of multi-state car washes, farm-raised meats and tallow, and more.

“I think that we were too dependent on him for the major, major problem-solving skills,” Steven said of his father. “This has given us the opportunity to step up, lead by committee, and for each of us to find our own strengths within the companies.”
