FBI Agents Question Tucson Mexican Restaurant Workers, Search Continues – Crime Online

FBI agents arrived at a Tucson Mexican restaurant this week, to interview employees in connection with the disappearance of Arizona mother, Nancy Guthrie.

Agents spent Wednesday and Thursday questioning workers at a restaurant where Nancy Guthrie previously had lunch with her daughter, “Today” show host, Savannah Guthrie, “Crime Stories” host Nancy Grace reports.

The Guthrie family reportedly visited the restaurant last November. The “Today” show filmed the gathering during a day of Savannah visiting childhood sites.

Professor of Forensics at Jacksonville State University, Joseph Scott Morgan, told Grace that agents likely feel there is information at the restaurant that needs further investigation.

“Obviously the FBI knows something about this. They think there is something of value there,” Morgan said.

The search followed information that someone searched Google for Savannah Guthrie’s salary information, along with Nancy Guthrie’s Catalina Foothills address.

“The restaurant search expands the periphery of folks she that was interacting with,” Director of Operations for USPA Nationwide Security, Brian Fitzgibbons, told Grace.

“Is someone at that restaurant focused on learning what the net worth of Savannah is and what the potential value value of a ransom for Nancy would be?”

As CrimeOnline previously reported, 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31 after family members dropped her off at home after dinner.

They reported her missing the following day after she failed to show up for church.

The FBI subsequently released images and videos of a suspect, obtained from Guthrie’s Nest camera.

The restaurant interviews come after DNA on a black glove found near Nancy Guthrie’s home had been linked to a worker at a nearby restaurant, although the name of that establishment has not been revealed.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos previously stated that investigators interviewed the restaurant employee and found they have “nothing to do with the case,” ABC News reports.

Meanwhile, over $1 million is being offered in the case.

  • $102,500: 88-CRIME
  • $100,000: 1-800-CALL-FBI
  • $1 million from the Guthrie family: 1-800-CALL-FBI (tips can be anonymous)
