GLENDALE, Calif. (TCN) — A 39-year-old man with a history of sniffing people’s rear ends has been arrested after allegedly engaging in similar behavior at two different retail stores.
According to NBC Los Angeles, authorities were called for two separate reports of a man allegedly bending down and sniffing rear ends of customers at both a Marshalls and a grocery store on Aug. 28. When police reviewed surveillance footage, they determined Calese Crowder was the suspect and they arrested him that same day on suspicion of parole violation.
Crowder allegedly has a history of similar behavior dating back to 2021, according to KTLA. In 2023, a woman posted a video on TikTok in which Crowder could allegedly be seen crouching behind her inside a Barnes & Noble store and attempting to sniff her rear end. The victim said Crowder claimed he was tying his shoes.
After she posted the video, other women came forward and alleged they had experienced similar behavior from the same suspect, KABC reports.
Crowder was arrested in July 2025 after a female customer at Nordstrom Rack in Burbank, California, reported sexual harassment. In August 2025, he was arrested for sniffing a woman’s rear end at a Walgreens store, also in Burbank, according to NBC Los Angeles.
Crowder was again arrested in November 2025 for failing to register as a sex offender, and he was on parole for a burglary, per NBC Los Angeles.
Crowder will remain in custody until his hearing, KTLA reports.
The investigation into the current case is ongoing. It will be submitted to prosecutors for possible criminal charges, according to NBC Los Angeles.
