DJ Kyle Cooke has officially released his first song, “Summer Should Be Fun.” The Summer House cast member has been saying that phrase “for years” (or since Summer House Season 2), and has now memorialized his favorite quote in a brand new song.
Kyle took to Instagram on Sept. 3, where he announced that he was releasing the new single that evening. “Been saying this for years…’SUMMER SHOULD BE FUN.’ Not just a catchphrase anymore, but my debut single is yours TONIGHT,” he wrote in the caption of the post.
He continued to take to Instagram hours later, where he posted a video opening up about why he chose to release his first single when he did. “You can be listening to it all Labor Day weekend long. Because, and I know I’ve been saying this for years, summer should be fun. And your holiday weekend should be fun as well,” he noted. “And let’s not sell ourselves short, there’s still three weeks left of summer. This has been a long time coming…I hope you enjoy it.”

Kyle Cooke’s DJ Career Explained
“Summer Should Be Fun” is Kyle’s debut song as a DJ, but Kyle has been a DJ for a while. Kyle first floated the idea of becoming a DJ to his ex-wife, Amanda Batula, during Summer House Season 8. “You know what I want? I want to be a DJ,” Kyle declared during Summer House Season 8, Episode 12. “I want to be a f—ing DJ.”
During the Summer House After Show following the episode, Kyle admitted to even wanting to release a single in the future. “I’ve always been the guy playing music,” he admitted. “I want to not only DJ. I want to produce music.”

Since then, Kyle has toured all over the world, DJing for huge audiences. Over the summer, Kyle performed shows in Chicago and Toronto, and is about to embark on a nationwide tour this fall. Starting in September, Kyle will be going on tour, performing shows in Arlington,Virginia; Baltimore, Maryland; Queens County, New York; Scottsdale, Arizona; Las Vegas, Nevada; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and Nashville, Tennessee.
Throughout the year, Kyle will continue to perform shows across the nation and in Canada, before heading internationally to Australia in January 2027. Starting in January, Kyle will perform DJ sets in Brisbane, Northbridge, South Yarra, and Coogee.
