Karen Huger’s new chapter on The Real Housewives of Potomac Season 11 could mark the end of her and husband Ray Huger’s love story, because while Karen and Ray are still married today, she hinted that they are no longer together in the RHOP Season 11 trailer when she revealed that they were “going to live separately” amid mounting relationship issues.
Prior to Karen’s shocking announcement about her and Ray’s new living arrangement, some of her RHOP castmates had already noticed in the Season 11 premiere that she had not worn her wedding ring in at least a month, prompting her to explain, “Ray and I are going through. We’ve grown apart.”
Elsewhere in the Oct. 11 episode, Karen admitted that she and Ray were “struggling,” as became apparent when she called him out for making a swift exit from their home, rather than sitting down to enjoy a cup of tea with her.

What relationship issues do Karen and Ray Huger have?
During the RHOP Season 11 premiere, Karen explained that her and Ray’s problems reached a boiling point after she was released from jail in September 2025, following a DUI conviction. “I think he’s angry because he has a new wife,” Karen speculated in an Episode 1 confessional, noting that she was focused on “taking care of myself and getting well.” Ray, for his part, said in the trailer that he thought “non-sober Karen might’ve been more fun.”
After Karen returned home from prison, she previously opened up to Andy Cohen about “dating” Ray “through the glass” for the six months she was behind bars, while also expressing some skepticism about their future together. As Karen put it to Andy, Ray had a “totally different wife” at that point, also referring to their marriage as a “work in progress” on the RHOP Season 10 finale.
“He has a stranger,” she said, referring to the work she’d done on herself, both in rehab and while she was incarcerated. “Ray said that if, after I got the monkey off my back, and we decided not to be together, he could let me go. He wouldn’t want to let me go, but if, for some reason, we find out that we’ve done the best we could on this course, he would let me go.”
Ray, meanwhile, had told Andy that he was “really happy” to have Karen back home, before adding, “She’s a little bit different, though — but good.”
