Guests traveling to Blake Shelton‘s Oklahoma ranch may be in for a surprise, as the country star has his own unusual airport pick-up service.
Fellow country singer Dustin Lynch recently appeared on Country Countdown USA and revealed how Shelton transports his friends from the airport to his ranch via helicopter.
“He’s got a great ranch out there. He puts groups of buddies together to hunt and goof off. I fly my plane, and he sends a helicopter to pick me up and drop me off at his front door,” Lynch said, per Taste of Country.
The funny thing is, the airport is only seven miles away from the ranch, but Lynch said the former Voice coach “doesn’t like driving the backroads… So the helicopter zips out and gets me.”
Lynch himself is a licensed pilot, so he flies his own plane to the airport before being whisked by chopper to Shelton’s ranch. “I didn’t realize how free you feel whenever you can hop in an airplane and go wherever you want to go and it opens a whole new world,” the “Thinking About You” singer previously told Entertainment Tonight. “Those that fly know what I’m talking about.”
He officially got his license in 2023, which he announced on Instagram, writing, “Starting this week off with a gratitude post. Grateful for my friends and team that continue to push me. Like getting this done right here. To the sky!”
Lynch joined a growing lineup of country music stars who are qualified to fly, including Dierks Bentley, Tim McGraw, and Alan Jackson.
Shelton admitted to having his own private helicopter during a 2016 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! “It gets a lot more use than you’d think,” he said, revealing he and his wife, Gwen Stefani, go on dates on it.
He continued, “I don’t fly it; I don’t know how to fly it. I get someone else to, because in order to fly, to be able to settle in and really enjoy it, you got to have some drinks.”
