“I felt like I had a fever, and my thyroid issues literally strained my body so much I couldn’t even sing,” she shared.

As Lisa began to cry, Keri hugged her while consoling her. “It’s really, really hard what you’ve been through,” Keri said. “It’s a lot.”

Lisa Barlow opens up about how her health scare impacted her singing career

Lisa revealed during the Nov. 4 episode that her thyroid scare was a wake-up call for her and her singing career ambitions.

“Getting the diagnosis, this is a blessing,” Lisa told producers. “I’m like, on a path now to change things, where I can accomplish the things that I have been feeling and knowing I’ve wanted to do for a while.”

Lisa added that losing her voice only made her want to use it more. “Now that I feel like my voice is coming back, I’m like, I have to do something with it,” she said.

She shared one of her major singing goals was to “put out a full album.” “[Singing] can be more than a hobby…It’s not just like a bucket list thing, it’s like something I feel in my core,” she said. “There’s so much more I want to do with this.”

As Lisa did a singing demo for her husband John Barlow, she elaborated, “I just feel so much better.” As far as her future singing, she joked, “You can’t kill my vibe.”

It came as Lisa opened up about her history of singing, and how this wasn’t just a new ambition. “I’ve been singing since I was a little girl. I loved to just like stand on the swing set in our backyard and like pretend it was my stage. It’s something I’ve always loved doing,” she shared.
