As a native New Yorker, Ava Dash had already taken a bite out of the Big Apple long before she joined the Next Gen NYC cast. Even so, this stage of the 25-year-old’s life is all about new beginnings.
Born with “that it factor,” per her BravoTV.com bio, Ava grew up in Manhattan’s Tribeca neighborhood, but went on to spend several years in Los Angeles. Now, she’s back in NYC to focus on her career — while still experiencing a plentiful mix of fun and drama with her new friends and castmates along the way.
“With a new guy in the picture and fresh faces entering the circle, Ava’s effortless reign as the group’s most-wanted might not be so effortless after all,” her bio reads.
Indeed, the Next Gen NYC trailer teased how her critical eye for fashion led to a clash with Ariana Biermann. “Every time I’ve seen her, I didn’t think she has the best style for a fashion designer,” Ava said of The Real Housewives of Atlanta daughter in one preview clip.

A 2022 graduate of Loyola Marymount University, Ava currently works as a brand ambassador, in addition to pursuing modeling full-time.
On the modeling front, Ava is “committed to making an impact both in fashion and beyond, using her influence to encourage conscious style and support meaningful causes,” according to her professional website, which also notes that her career has already taken her around the globe, landing her features in major publications and campaigns.
She has fronted a PETA campaign promoting vegan accessories over exotic skins and collaborated with UGG and The Teen Project to uplift women transitioning out of the foster care system.

Ava’s parents are music mogul Damon Dash and fashion icon Rachel Roy.
“Ava was surrounded by legends from day one,” her bio reads. “But she’s never needed a famous last name to turn heads,” her bio continues.

On Ava’s Instagram, Damon showed a more supportive side, recently writing that she has “that CEO vision” and is “making moves and making her dad so proud!”
Her mom, Rachel, meanwhile is also a frequent commenter on her “AvaBaby’s” posts, which feature everything from skincare tips to GRWM content, and, of course, plenty of fashion. Ava also previously co-authored 96 Words for Love, a modern retelling of the Indian legend Shakuntala, with her mother in 2019.
