Bravo’s The Daily Dish got an exclusive look into where Steven McBee Jr. of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys lets it all hang out … literally.
The acting head of the family’s multi-million-dollar farm invited audiences into his rustic but modern single-family home in Gallatin, Missouri. Adorned with country charm and lots of barnwood, the rural property boasts a sprawling landscape that is sure to impress, whether you’re grilling outside or exploring a walk-in closet that could give Jenna Lyons’ famous shoe closet a run for its money.
Because this one is full of cowboy boots, y’all.
A home on point
The real-life cowboy welcomed The Daily Dish into his animal sanctuary of sorts. It might not have been the penthouses or beachfront properties many in the Bravoverse have accustomed themselves to, but for Steven, home is where the heart is, even if it’s “out in the middle of nowhere” and surrounded by cows.
“My nearest neighbor is five miles away,” he said. “And that’s exactly how I like it.”
A new home computer and working WiFi make the home a little more contemporary, but deer mounts and hunting bows on the wall, along with the animal hides seen throughout the residence, will surely keep guests grounded.
“If I don’t know what to do with something or I have an open spot, I throw more deer antlers at it,” he said. “I used to have a deer-antler Christmas tree, actually.”
As Steven Jr. pointed out, most of the barnwood around the home came from the farm’s very own barns. Barnwood made up the walls that held his photos, from hunting trips to an aerial view of the property. Plus, rusted-over corrugated metal accents helped define the tall columns of the open layout.
One great thing about living so far from the rest of the world was that Steven Jr. could play the guitar any time he pleased without having neighbors to disturb.
What’s cookin’?
Steven insisted there was “not a whole lot going on” in his kitchen, but his girlfriend, Calah Jackson, seemed to enjoy the space … at least when Steven Jr. whipped up breakfast in an apron and nothing else. A sign reading “Our happy place” and an island counter make the kitchen feel as homey as the rest, topped with white cabinetry and black appliances.
A nearby office keeps Steven Jr.’s very first vacuum cleaner, but a carpeted bedroom is “where the magic happens,” he teased.
Sleeping quarters featured white walls and additional barnwood, plus a matching bed frame and a brown-and-white quilt printed with bears and stars.
“My bedroom, like everything else in my house, is made out of barnwood,” he told BravoTV.com. “This material that we used for my house didn’t cost anything other than the work it took to take it off the barns … and the million dollars worth of farm ground that we bought with the farms.”
But perhaps the best part? A nice rack, and by “nice rack,” we mean a mounted wall rack to store Steven Jr.’s cowboy hats.
“You don’t wear felt before Labor Day,” he cautioned.
Clothing optional?
Steven Jr. might not have more shoes than The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Sutton Stracke, but he likely has some beat when it comes to the stellar cowboy boot collection in his walk-in closet.
A white vanity sits by the window, while most of the farmer’s jackets and shirts contain the logo of his family business, McBee Farm & Cattle.
“I have an entire room dedicated to a closet, so I guess you’re probably used to seeing that on Bravo,” he joked.
Still, Steven Jr.’s favorite part of the house is the outdoors. It’s no wonder, given the million-dollar view of the countryside, which guests could easily see from any one of the Adirondack chairs surrounding a fancy new fire pit. Rocks neatly cover the circular space, a perfect and wide-open spot to enjoy throwing some meats on the grill.
And, as Steven Jr. showed fans, the secluded home in the hills is a perfect place to take in the view … especially if you want to do it wearing nothing but a cowboy hat.
