Kandi Burruss has not cut off Riley Burruss from her financial help. The Next Gen NYC cast member revealed during Season 1, Episode 1, that her mom had given her “one year” before cutting her off (more on that down below), and is now sharing an update now that the year has come to an end.
The mother-daughter duo appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on July 15, where they both weighed in on Riley’s current financial situation during the WWHL After Show, after an audience member asked Riley if Kandi had cut her off yet. “No, she didn’t,” Riley said. “Because I’m still going to get my master’s [degree].”
She elaborated on this, admitting that her mom, an alum of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, hasn’t cut her off, because she is furthering her education in either business or law. “So I’m still gonna go to school,” she continued.Â
But, Riley hasn’t decided where she’s going or what she will be studying just yet. “We’ll see which school,” she said, playing coy. ” I don’t like to tell everyone exactly what I’m doing, but I’m going to get my master’s. I’m studying now to take the test in August.”
“Yeah, so y’all pray for my baby that she pass and gets high scores on her test,” Kandi added.Â
During another conversation in the episode (clip below), Kandi and Riley shared some laughs over what Kandi called her daughter’s “privilege” after a memorable moment during the current season of Next Gen NYC.

During Next Gen NYC Season 1, Episode 5, Kandi visited Riley in Brooklyn, where Riley admitted that she was still in her “figuring-it-out-year.” But Kandi had other thoughts about this. “No, no. We said six months,” Kandi corrected Riley.
