During the “Ask Andy” panel in Charleston, South Carolina, a fan gave the Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen host an opportunity to share some things about Ben and Lucy that “just melt [his] heart.” In his answer, he offered attendees some new insight into his kids’ reaction to his and Kevin’s relationship of more than a year.
“Well, God, I mean, I don’t think there’s time in the day,” the father of two responded to the fan’s question about his children. “You know, they’re incredible, and just watching them gather information, they’re so smart. And, um, I have to say, watching them kind of react to my boyfriend has been this incredible journey for us as a family.”

Though Andy didn’t specify whether or not Kevin would be joining them for trick‑or‑treating, the WWHL host also told the Bravo Fan Fest audience that he was “so excited” to celebrating Halloween with Ben and Lucy this year.
“Ben’s gonna be Darth Maul,” Andy revealed, referring to the Star Wars character. Lucy, meanwhile, is “gonna be a butterfly,” though he said there’s still potential for a last-minute costume change.
“She wants to change it to a fairy,” Andy noted. “And I’m like, ‘You’re a fairy butterfly, but…’ She’s like, ‘But what is that?’ I’m like, ‘Nothing. Whatever you make it.”

Shortly after Andy and Kevin revealed their romance to the public in June 2026, he also opened up about his boyfriend’s bond with Ben and Lucy.
“This man is kind and strong and smart, and he is an adult, and he loves my children, and they love him,” Andy said during a June episode of his SiriusXM show, Andy Cohen Live.
Months later, he echoed that sentiment during an Aug. 5 appearance on NBC’s Today show. At the time, he had just revealed that Kevin has never seen an episode of any Real Housewives franchise. “He loves my kids and me, and that’s what’s important,” Andy added. “But I’ll get him there.”

How did Andy Cohen meet his boyfriend, Kevin Sobieski?
During an Andy Cohen Live episode in June, Andy said that he met Kevin at a friend’s 4th of July party in the Hamptons in 2025 — which he’d “almost” decided to skip. After he spotted Kevin at the bash, the two immediately hit it off, but they kept their budding romance under wraps for almost a year.
“We talked all night. I very methodically put my number in his phone,” Andy continued. “Apparently, I said to him twice that night, ‘I want to make sure this number is right.’ And then he said, ‘I knew you were serious when you were really serious about this number.'”
He went on to refer to Kevin as his “person,” adding, “I love him.”
