On the Next Gen NYC After Show, a producer pointed out that they’d spotted a photo of Shai and Ava hanging out in the Hamptons with some castmates recently. He then explained that he “didn’t go out” with the group after the pic was snapped. Charlie Zakkour, meanwhile, chimed in to say that they’d partied with Summer House‘s Kyle Cooke, with whom Ava had been romantically linked, that night, without Shai.
Shai didn’t address the Ava and Kyle of it all, and instead insisted he did want to hang out with Ava more in the Hamptons. Charlie’s response? “Just not badly enough. Kyle had Ava’s attention anyway. I’m just joking.”

What happened between Shai Fruchter and Ava Dash on Next Gen NYC Season 2?
Though Ava turned down Shai’s request for a goodnight kiss during BravoCon 2025 weekend in Las Vegas, she later became intrigued by the possibility of them dating (more on the below). Back in New York City, Shai and Ava kissed multiple times, and during the finale, some of their castmates even caught them exiting a bar bathroom together.
“It definitely caught me by surprise,” Shai told Bravo Insider, adding that he never thought Ava was interested in him. “I didn’t know if that would ever be possible. She’s very pretty and cool. She had a boyfriend for the longest time, so I didn’t really think of her like that.”

Echoing Shai’s comments, Ava remarked on the finale’s After Show that she never saw their romance coming, either. Everything changed for her, however, after stopping by Shai’s pop-up event for his About Time clothing brand. Ava recalled feeling “very impressed” by her castmate’s passion and motivation.
“I, like, didn’t really think that Shai worked before,” she elaborated. “And then we went to his pop-up, and I was like, you are passionate about something. And, like, something that attracts me to somebody is like the fact that they’re motivated. So, I think after going to the pop up, I just was like, oh, maybe you are a man and not a boy.”

Did Shai Fruchter meet Ava Dash’s dad, Damon Dash?
Viewers saw Ava tell her dad, Damon Dash, that she and Shai kissed during the Season 2 finale. Afterwards, Shai revealed to Bravo Insider that he met Dame “over FaceTime.”
“It went great, honestly,” Shai recalled. “It was a very quick conversation. He’s a really cool guy. He’s very funny. He’s very quick. I would consider myself pretty quick, and even with him, I was kind of stumped on what to say, just because he’s a very smart guy. He’s funny.”
