After Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard called off their engagement in August 2023, the two have ridden a roller coaster of ups and downs. However, after Carl attended Lindsay’s housewarming party with a sweet gift in tow for her daughter Gemma, Lindsay returned the favor with a congratulations present for Carl’s soft opening of Soft Bar on Summer House Season 10, Episode 13,.
“I know how you love everything soft, so if you need a little hug,” Lindsay joked as Carl unwrapped the teddy bear she gifted him (and producers showed a flashback of Carl asking Lindsay for a hug during Season 8).
It was then that Carl made a stunning statement about his ex. “I miss her, 100 percent. I do. I miss the friendship that I’ve had with Lindsay,” he admitted to producers during Summer House‘s April 28 episode. “This little moment of the teddy bear, even if it’s a little backhanded or silly or whatever she’s going for here, it means a lot to me.”
The two have more recently made even greater strides in repairing their friendship. Lindsay joked she “unblocked him” on Instagram after the two filmed an ad for Uber on April 4, which she captioned, “Can confirm, Carl is A MESS.”
Carl Radke details how Lindsay Hubbard inspired him to open Soft Bar
In case you need a refresher, Carl first came up with the concept of a non-alcoholic bar during Season 8. He mentioned the idea to his then-fianceé Lindsay, who told him, “Sorry, I’m gonna have to say ‘no’ to that one…I don’t want that for our future family.”
Flash forward to Soft Bar’s launch, and Lindsay gave credit where credit was due. “I mean, it took two years after our breakup, but here we are,” she told producers during the April 28 episode. “He is actually doing something that deserves my attention.” She joked, “I would prefer my juices to have alcohol in them at this moment in time, but I’m going to go support him and his $25 fruit drinks.”

During Season 9, Carl admitted that Lindsay shutting down the idea actually helped him. “Honestly, print this: ‘Thank you, Lindsay,'” he told producers. “At the time that I told her that I wanted to start a bar, you know what? It was a bad idea. But, guess what? I went back to the table, and I refined my idea.”
Carl reiterated that Soft Bar’s opening wouldn’t be a reality without Lindsay during the April 28 episode. “Thank you, Lindsay. I appreciate you coming,” he shared in a confessional interview. “Your feedback, believe it or not, is why we’re standing here right now.”
Lindsay Hubbard reveals where she stands with Carl Radke’s mom
At the Soft Bar opening, Lindsay confronted a relationship she lost when Carl called off their wedding: her connection to Sharon Radke, Carl’s mother. She opened up during the April 28 episode about her last communication with Sharon, which came by way of text message about a month after she and Carl split.
“I know I have not reached out to you since everything happened,” the text read. “Please understand I do care for you and want only the best for you. I hope you are taking care of yourself.”

However, Lindsay was upset with the text, and in the past has revealed she was upset over seeing the tough conversation Carl had with his parents ahead of his break-up with Lindsay play out during Summer House Season 8. Carl’s mom has also dissed Lindsay since the split, telling Jesse Solomon and West Wilson that Lindsay was “mean to me, too” during Season 9. When West asked if Sharon had been “able to fully let go [and] forgive” Lindsay, Sharon responded at the time, “Eh, not quite.”
Despite their past, Sharon decided to approach Lindsay at Soft Bar during the April 28 episode, and paid her a compliment. “For someone who just had a baby, you look spectacularly good,” she said, referencing Lindsay’s daughter, Gemma. Sharon then flattered Lindsay further, telling her, “Love your hair.”
But when Sharon asked how Lindsay’s “baby girl” was doing, Lindsay wasn’t quite ready to let Sharon’s former comments about her go. “She’s great. She’s a go-getter just like her mom. Slightly mean, just like me, right?” Lindsay replied. Sharon laughed it off and answered, “You are you, and isn’t that the most important thing to be?”
When the two parted ways, another Soft Bar guest asked Sharon how the conversation with Lindsay went, and Sharon only shrugged when they suggested “not good.”
