Austin, Texas – Elon Musk‘s ex and the mother of four of his numerous children, Shivon Zilis, seems to have confirmed they have broken up while defending his “tortured soul” on X, and people have thoughts.

“It’s hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that’s just how it is sometimes,” Zilis wrote to kick off a lengthy X post where the venture capitalist appears to have confirmed the rumors of her sudden split from the Tesla CEO.
But rather than lashing words of hate at Musk, Zilis appears to be showering the SpaceX founder with praise in between subtle jabs, and the internet is divided by it.
The X post, which also featured a screenshot of a text convo with Musk, continued, “I feel happy that I got to show Elon how it feels to be deeply understood, nurtured, and peacefully loved with stability and gentleness.

“Given the tumultuous nature of his early life, his often tortured soul, and how hard he fights for humanity I wanted him to feel the deepest and most stable form of love this world can provide. My heart is full knowing I got to do that, and I hope it leaves a lasting good effect.”
She then claims, “We were always his safe space,” without clarifying who “we” refers to, though presumably she means herself and the four children she shares with Musk.
“I’ve loved him more than life itself and he’s taught me 100 lifetimes of knowledge … so there is a lot of loss, but luckily we created four beautiful little loves of my life,” Zilis said. “I do hope and pray he and I can be great friends and coparents.”
Though Zilis admitted she was “hurting,” that didn’t stop social media users from sharing their thoughts on her lengthy and highly personal post in the replies.
“i’m embarrassed for you,” one X user wrote, while another said, “He left another mother of multiple of his children? Hm, it does become more and more difficult to believe he is a light to the world when he can’t be a light to his spouse and children.”
But not all the replies were negative by nature, as several X users came to Zilis’ defense.
“This makes me sad,” replied author Juanita Broaddrick. “Two beautiful people who love their kids.”
“How someone responds in these situations is very revealing. I see your heart and it’s beautiful. Love on those babies. Love on Elon, even if it’s from afar,” replied film director and historian Erin Derham Van Swol, as another X user urged caution: “sad to see but this could be handled privately no?”
