A Georgia man who targeted his co-worker out of revenge will spend the rest of his life in prison.
Devin Riley, 35, was sentenced to life in prison without parole plus 50 years after being convicted of murder for the fatal shooting of 24-year-old Quintavious Clark. According to reporting by local ABC affiliate WSB, Riley worked with Clark at a McDonald’s restaurant in East Point, Georgia, along with a woman who was employed as their manager.
Prosecutors said the manager was Riley’s girlfriend at the time, and Clark got into a verbal dispute with her. Fulton County prosecutors said Riley went to the McDonald’s a couple of days after the argument to allegedly exact revenge on Clark.
According to reporting by WSB, prosecutors said Riley drove through the parking of the McDonald’s in a red sedan around 2 a.m. on Feb. 7, 2025. Clark was in his car, taking a break for lunch, when Riley pulled up next to him and opened fire. The shooting was captured on surveillance video.
Prosecutors said the red sedan was a rental car that had a tracker on it, which made it possible for investigators to identify Riley as the driver using geolocation evidence. Investigators tracked Riley to the home of another girlfriend, where the car was located before he went to McDonald’s. After fatally shooting Clark, Riley returned to his other girlfriend’s apartment, where he removed the car’s license plates.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis called the shooting “a very stupid crime.”

Riley maintained his innocence in a call with WSB from behind bars. Prosecutors acknowledged that Riley’s face could not be seen in the surveillance video that captured the shooting, but stated that Riley’s jailhouse phone calls convinced them that he was guilty of the crime.
