After meeting online and going on a single date, a woman dropped in on a “sugar daddy” in the middle of the night, asked for $2,000, then blinded him with detergent after he refused, authorities said.
Kaley Renae Medina, 26, is charged with robbery, according to records in Bexar County, Texas.
Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said she and the victim, a 61-year-old man, met online on SeekingArrangement.com, according to WOAI.
“What it appears to be is one of these — for lack of a better term — ‘sugar daddy’ type sites where people with money meet up with younger people that need money and make some sort of an arrangement to date or what have you,” he said.
Documents reportedly state the victim went on a date with Medina earlier this month.
Nothing strange happened, but he had no further plans to meet her Medina. Nonetheless, documents state that he let her in when Medina arrived unannounced on Tuesday at 2:30 a.m.
They spoke, drank wine, and Medina suddenly asked for $2,000, authorities said. She allegedly threw a fit after he told her he did not have that money. Medina destroyed an array of items, including his mounted flat-screen TV, his entertainment center, and a painting, authorities said.
He demanded she stop. Medina then allegedly poured laundry detergent on his head, which burned and blinded his eyes.
Having done that, she stole possessions, including his passport, an iPhone, a surveillance camera, and a Dyson hair dryer, authorities reportedly said.
The man crawled blinded out of his home, yelling for help. He was taken to the hospital for cuts on his legs, and the chemical burns to his eyes.
Salazar reportedly noted Medina’s criminal history included a DWI. Salazar reportedly noted Medina’s criminal history included a DWI. She was arrested for aggravated assault on a security guard in 2020 in a case dismissed for insufficient evidence.
Online records show Medina posted a $20,000 bond.
