Kouri Richins allegedly poisoned her husband Eric Richins’ The Utah mom who has been dubbed the ‘Moscow mule killer’ appeared at a bail hearing this morning to determine whether or not she should be released from prison pending her trial over the March 2022 death of her husband, Eric.
Kouri Richins, 33, appeared alongside her lawyer Skye Lazaro during the proceedings. When O’Driscoll read out her statements about attempting to perform CPR on her husband, Richins began to sob.

Richins is charged with murder and drug possession. The mom of three later self-published an illustrated book about an angelic father watching over his sons.
The state called three witnesses for the hearing, the first to speak was Detective Jeff O’Driscoll, who confirmed that Eric Richins‘ cause of death was due to fentanyl. The detective also said that the source of the information that led to Richins’ arrest was the woman’s friend, C.L. That person supplied the drugs, the detective said.
Prosecutors say in court documents that she slipped five times the lethal dose of fentanyl into a Moscow mule cocktail she made for her husband, amid marital disputes and fights over a multimillion-dollar mansion she ultimately purchased as an investment.

Danielle Cohen-Higgins, a trial lawyer, suggests that Kouri meticulously planned her husband’s death,
Higgins further implied that it would not be surprising if the state pursued the death penalty in this case.
