“Obviously, I know that Ashley said something about Mauricio when he was in Aspen,” Kyle explained in a confessional from RHUGT: Roaring 20th Episode 4. “This is out there currently being talked about on the internet and on Instagram every time I open my phone. So obviously I’m going to say something to her. Do I love it? No. But it would be more weird to pretend like it’s not out there.”
Though Kyle noted that she did not know Ashley outside of seeing her in passing at different events, she added that flirting with any Housewife’s ex is not something that members of the Bravo “sisterhood” should ever do. Before she could even broach the subject at the Atlanta bash, however, Ashley immediately told Kyle, “I think there’s some misconceptions about what went down with your ex-husband.”
Before she could continue, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG interjected with a correction. “Technically, we’re still married,” Kyle reminded Ashley. “We’re not legally separated or anything, but we’re not together. But it’s still weird. Like, you know, we just had our 30-year anniversary.”

In a confessional, Kyle added, “This is not like she was hitting on an ex-boyfriend. This is, like, a very long marriage, children. Like, that’s weird. There are plenty of fish in the sea. Get out of the Beverly Hills sea.”
How Ashley Darby defended her interaction with Mauricio to Kyle Richards
Prior to her conversation with Kyle, Ashley had already insisted to RHOP‘s Stacey Rusch, who also attended the Alter Ego party, that “there was no flirting” between her and Mauricio in Aspen. Even after Stacey claimed that it was actually Mauricio who had flirted with Ashley, and that they both “liked” each other, the latter maintained, “He was not on my radar.”
While unpacking the issue with Kyle directly later on, Ashley reasserted that she “would never be able to, like, date anybody” in the Housewives universe. By her account, Stacey had actually orchestrated the whole interaction when Mauricio happened to run into the RHOP cast on their Colorado trip.
“I mean, she’s new to the group, and that’s fair,” Ashley said of “wingwoman” Stacey. “But it wasn’t even, like, mean-hearted, you know? Irrespective of whatever’s online, I was like, ‘Does Kyle really think that I would try to, like, get with her ex-husband?'”
Ashley continued, “I’m telling you that that is a boundary that I do have. Do I want anybody else on these shows dating my ex-husband? Absolutely not. So, I just want you to know, that’s just not who I am.”
Kyle’s final word on the Mauricio matter? “You don’t want them pumping up their own egos any more than they already are,” she said with a laugh, after expressing her appreciation for Ashley’s explanation.
Ashley Darby and Mauricio Umansky’s RHOP flirting drama, explained
The drama surrounding Mauricio’s RHOP cameo had previously arisen during Episode 2 of RHUGT: Roaring 20th when Kyle called out Gizelle Bryant for her recent comments about wanting to sleep with him. Though Gizelle admitted to having joked about hooking up with Mau, she had actually been the one to put a stop to Ashley’s alleged flirting in Aspen, where the Umansky family has a vacation home.
“Mauricio is off limits to all of us,” Gizelle had declared to Ashley and Stacey on RHOP Season 10. “You know, we’re in Kyle’s world; she’s in our world.” Referencing the fact that Kyle and Maurico’s split announcement was already nearly two years in the past, at the time, Ashley replied, “I feel like enough time has passed. Her statement prompted Gizelle to succinctly shoot back, “I don’t.”

Either way, the RHOBH husband departed before any romantic sparks flew, and Ashley insisted to Stacey, “I don’t want Mauricio.”
During a February 2026 appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Ashley doubled down, “I did not flirt with Mauricio,” adding, “He’s not even my type.” Kyle, meanwhile, had not actually seen the footage, but remarked on an Amazon Live stream, “If she was flirting, that’s weird. … You’re embarrassing yourself, doing that on camera.”
