“I’m dating someone,” The Real Housewives of Atlanta original cast member announced to the other ‘Wives during Episode 4, and shared new details on their relationship timeline. “We’ve been dating about four years. Off and on.”
Nene’s boyfriend Nyonisela arrived with her to support her during her cameo on stage at Porsha Williams’ drag show brunch. Nyonisela went around the table to introduce himself to the ‘Wives, who in turn gave him high praise for his style and looks. Vicki Gunvalson was particularly intrigued by Nyonisela, declaring he was “sexy” and “darling.”
Nene’s new relationship comes after her husband, Gregg Leakes, passed away in the fall of 2021 after a battle with colon cancer. When asked if she’d ever marry again, Nene left the door open as a possibility.
“I don’t have to get married again. I love love, and I would love to get married to the right person,” she admitted to the ‘Wives during the Aug. 30 episode. “I want to be treated like the wife, but I don’t have to be the wife.”
Who is Nene Leakes’ boyfriend, Nyonisela Sioh?
Nyonisela is an international fashion designer, and is the creator of a line of custom suites and accessories as the CEO of Nyoni Couture, according to its website. The fashion company is an international seller and tailor of “the latest and trendiest men’s high-end bespoke fashion.”
His website bio notes he was born in Monrovia, Liberia, and that his “ideas and concepts are inspired by his African heritage, fused with Western styles.”

Inside Nene Leakes’ relationship with boyfriend Nyonisela Sioh
Nene first confirmed her relationship with Nyonisela in Dec. 2021, and shared that she had Gregg’s blessing to date after his passing.
“We’re dating! We’re friends,” she told The Shade Room about her relationship with Nyonisela at the time. “I will love Gregg forever [and] ever! Grieving is hard! Even harder [and] depressing alone.”
She added, “Gregg and I had a very tearful conversation before his passing. His words to me were ‘Be happy, keep smiling and he who finds you, has found a good one.'”
Nene then rang in 2022 with her boyfriend, and posted Instagram stories of the two celebrating to her page. The couple became TV official when Nene hosted the talk show The Real alongside The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Garcelle Beauvais in Feb. 2022, and brought Nyonisela along. However, the two have kept their relationship mostly private in the last few years.
Nene Leakes opens up about the passing of her husband Gregg Leakes
Nene opened up to the ‘Wives during the Aug. 30 RHUGT episode about not only Gregg, but their private friendship with Kyle Richards and Kyle’s now-estranged husband Mauricio Umansky.
“Kyle and I would double date with Greg and Mauricio,” Nene revealed. “So, I wanted to connect with Kyle so bad, because Gregg is gone, and I know that her and Mauricio aren’t the way they used to be, but they’re still family.”
Kyle weighed in on her friendship with Nene and Gregg, adding, “I just love how Gregg loved you and supported you so much. Just happy to see you shine.”
Nene and Gregg were married for 13 years before divorcing in 2011. But they soon reconciled and re-married in a second ceremony, as shown on I Dream of Nene: The Wedding, which aired on Bravo in 2013.

Gregg was first diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer in 2018, and in 2021, Nene shared that Gregg’s cancer had returned. He passed away later that year.
“I have good days and bad days,” Nene admitted after Gregg’s passing in her Sept. 2021 Instagram stories. “Some days I’m up, some days I’m down…Pushing through.”
During the Aug. 30 episode, Nene reflected that while “Gregg was a good guy,” he had one fault when it came to RHOA and its casts. “I could be mad with all of them, but Greg is still friends with them,” she joked of his big heart. “I would be like, ‘You gotta pick a side, fool!’”
