During a break from filming Next Gen NYC‘s Reunion Part 1, Brooks called his mom to vent from the reunion stage. After The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City cast member said hello to his “gorgeous” castmate Riley Burruss, she reminded her son, “By the way, you know when you’re mic’d up, right, they’ll use footage from it. Just so you’re aware.”
Brooks’ response? “Good to know.”

With that said, Meredith asked Brooks how the reunion taping had been going so far. Referring to the vibe between him and several of his Next Gen NYC castmates as “really aggressive,” Brooks added, “No one’s listening, unless I’m, like, direct like that.”
Further pulling from her own experience as a seven-season cast member on RHOSLC, Meredith told Brooks, “Well, then I think you should say that.”
Just prior to filming resuming, she also advised her son, “You shouldn’t have to get to that level to get people’s attention. You’ve been holding back. You just need to be you.”

How did Meredith Marks’ family factor into the Next Gen NYC Season 2 drama?
Prior to his phone call with Meredith, Brooks noted that he “didn’t appreciate” previous comments that castmate Charlie Zakkour had made about their family, specifically his father, Seth Marks, and sister, Chloe Marks. Given that Charlie had made more negative remarks about Seth during Season 2, he and Brooks clashed even more at the reunion.
Amid their back and forth, Gia Giudice chimed in that the cast “just shouldn’t talk about parents, like, in general,” and Charlie said that he actually agreed with her. “The only reason I brought up your dad, you brought up my dad first,” Charlie told Brooks, who denied his characterization of events.
Brooks, meanwhile, referred to Charlie’s earlier comments about not wanting to meet up with his dad for a conversation about Chloe during Season 1. As Charlie replied, “Brooks, sorry, with all due respect, I don’t want to go to lunch with Seth. Like, f–kin’ sue me.”
A bit later, Charlie doubled down on his Season 2 comment that Set should be “embarrassed” about being a “Househusband,” and Brooks added, “Why should my dad be embarrassed? … Maybe if you listened to anything that he said, you would know that he is a high-level executive and has worked his ass off to provide for my family.”
Charlie, for his part, replied, “OK, and to Seth, I am, again, very sorry,” but the two still continued to argue. Finally, Brooks shouted, “Stop talking about my f–king dad!”
What did Meredith Marks think about Next Gen NYC Season 2?
In an exclusive Bravo Insider interview, a “proud” Meredith opened up about Next Gen NYC‘s “great” second season and heaped praise, not only on Brooks, but on the cast as a whole.
“I was not around nearly as much this year, because I was on tour for my DJ [career] at the same time,” she explained, following her multiple Season 1 cameos with Brooks. “So, I was gone a lot.”

Either way, Meredith was excited to see her son highlight “his business endeavors and his new collection, which I am obsessed with and really proud of him for, and live in,” she added.
Commenting on the entire cast, Meredith further remarked, “I mean, that group is amazing, they really are, and that show just took off. They’re a great group of kids, and, for the most part, just off the charts. I’m really proud of Brooks, and I’m proud of his friends.”
